Did You Know...

... that Christy Frikken has her place now at the NSL Profiles?

posted Oct 17th, 2008 - NSL-TV has moved fast forward now to Round 6 of the Southern California Skydiving League's September meet. There were two good reasons for this last update before the NSL News switches locations from DeLand, Florida, to Eloy, Arizona. Event judge in Perris and former Elsinore GT member Steve Miller commented Perris Fury's last round of the September meet in a way that made the viewing of this meet video apparently desirable:

"By my memory, the next interesting bit is Fury in Round 6. They really got it back on track by then. A really nice clean skydive."

The complete Round 6 of all five teams has been uploaded, including Perris Fury's 21-pointer. The other main reason is Fury's Center Outside, Christy Frikken. Skydiving Magazine's 2007 Skydiver of the Year eventually ended up on the NSL Profiles page. She provided the NSL News with the information for the "Up Close & Personal" feature on the profile page, where the copy of Skydiving Magazine's story completes an overview of Christy Frikken's career.

She leaves no doubt what she has in mind for her future in Formation Skydiving competition, as the vision of her own situation in ten years shows: "Stumped trying to figure out a place to store all those world meet medals."

The next step towards this goal begins next week on Monday, at the USPA Nationals 2008. Her team has worked very hard in the past years to get closer to the current top team in the USA and in the world, Airspeed Odyssey. The pursuit of the top position has been successful so far, as the gap between Airspeed and Fury has become smaller and smaller over time.

The scores after the ten 4-way rounds next week will show where Perris Fury currently stands in relation to the best two 4-way teams in the world. Airspeed Odyssey and France Maubeuge together represent the very top of the 4-way world at the moment, and Black Cat from Russia is not too far behind.

By the way: Airspeed and Maubeuge are going at each other for the third time this year. The duel began at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 (Airspeed 252 - 247 France), where Perris Fury already joined this incredible race for the top spot, and continued at the World Meet 2008 ((Airspeed 195 - 194 France). Fury now joins again for the third showdown between Airspeed and France this year. By more way: Black Cat competed at the Shamrock Showdown 2008 in March, as well, and now joins in once again.
