NSL-TV has now uploaded all the captured videos of the Advanced Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2008. Five different teams of the 10-team field ended up with videos on the special NSL-TV page of the event.
The NSL News coverage of the USPA Nationals 2008 is brought to you with the help of:
All three medal winners are featured at least once. Centerline XP, the silver medalist, was captured four times and is now featured with the sequence of Round 8 (21-17-P). It is the second round where the audience has the opportunity to compare CSC Rhythm XP and Centerline XP directly. The videos of both teams' Round 10 are also available.
Centerline XP's video of Round 4 can also be reviewed. It is one of the two successive rounds where the team from Connecticut outscored the winner of the meet, CSC Rhythm XP. Centerline XP, with Justin Beaudreau, Cory Beaudreau, Mark Izzo, Brian Smith and Doreen Darsh on camera was introduced by the NSL News with the story on 26 August 2008 and was actually aiming at the Advanced Class gold medals this year.
Brian Smith explained in a short interview with the NSL News in Eloy that his team had expected to be closer to the Midwest team at that time. However, CSC Rhythm XP was just too strong and too well trained for any other Advanced Class team to keep up. Brian Ball (Center Inside), Laurent Beaudouin (Tail), Janette Lefkowitz (Center Outside), Steve Lefkowitz (Point) and Kevin Naftzger (Camera) did not only win this year's Advanced Class competition. Rhythm also posted a new record average in the history of this competition class with 16.9 after ten rounds.
CSC Rhythm XP and Centerline XP were both safe in their gold and silver medal positions, separated by 27 points after ten rounds. Centerline XP was nine points ahead of Perris Katalyst in 3rd place. Katalyst's player coach Christopher Irwin, former FX and Airspeed member, John Klinge, Glenn Frank and Terry Weatherford on camera had already won the USPA silver medals in the same category at the USPA Nationals 2007 with a 15.1 average. Kai Wolf was the fourth member last year, also player coach for Katalyst.
Michael Blanton was in the lineup this year, and Christopher Irwin guided Katalyst 2008 to the bronze medals in Eloy. It was a tough competition though. Butta Bing, with Tammi Rettig, Michelle Carlstrom, Celeste Campo, Lou Ascione and Keith Levesque on camera was pushing hard from behind. Katalyst carried a 2-point lead over the finish line and once again ended up on the podium.
