The NSL Profile story includes the dramatic story of his plane crash in 1992. The story of Dan BC's skydiving career, the accident and the comeback is so unique, incredible and almost unbelievable that a production company called Audience Alliance has now expressed a great deal of interest in a movie that covers Dan BC's life.
She added that a feature film built around a competition skydiving team "could do more towards advancing our sport and the public perception of it than any other single event ever has, particularly a film that is as inspiring as Dan's story."
The production company makes films that "entertain, enlighten and inspire" and feels that Mary Pat Avery's and Dan BC's movie embodies all this and more. However, prior to Audience Alliance "green lighting" a film for production, they ask their membership for feedback. A positive membership response does influence the final decision.
More information of the story for the movie can be found at the producer's website. It begins with a step back in time and a little bit of the dramatic story:
It is also the setting for the latest screenplay added to Audience Alliance's Story Department, entitled Above All Else, the inspiring story of Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld, charismatic and successful competition Skydiver. A man with the world almost literally at his feet, and on a quest for triumph at the National Skydiving Championships, until, on a training run, a tragic plane crash leaves him in a prolonged coma, and takes the lives of 16 of his colleagues, teammates and friends. It is the tale of his remarkable recovery from life threatening injuries, to fulfil his goal, and play to win."
Mary Pat Avery and Dan BC have summarized the complete outline of the true story at a different page of the same website. It can be viewed by clicking here. It is exciting and fascinating to read Dan BC's story again, even after having heard and read it already several times. It surely is all the stuff for a good movie, and this might be the right time to get it onto a screen for the general public.
However, there are a few obstacles in the way before the actual production can begin, as the administrative part of the whole process requires certain steps. Prior to Audience Alliance's confirmation of a movie idea, they ask members for feedback. A positive response does influence the final decision. The skydiving community can help the project by joining the free membership program and fill out the survey for the Above All Else movie. It is an easy procedure, informative and interesting at the same time.

"One week before the Nationals, Dan rides in the plane with his team, coaching them as they climb to jumping altitude. Unbeknownst to them, Dan follows them out after they exit. The pilot immediately radios down to alert the skydiving center. Alarmed, the owner prepares her staff for a 911 call.
The team's shock turns to elation seeing the enormous smile on Dan's face. They join hands in a circle, overjoyed at being reunited with their leader. On the ground, word has spread throughout the skydiving center, and friends and co-workers converge on the landing area. Despite their worries, Dan lands safely without incident as the assembled crowd cheers him on."
That was in 1992, 16 years ago. Several 4-way and 8-way gold medals at national championships and world meets followed, and Dan BC is still around, in the air as a current national 8-way champion and on the ground as a world champion coach. You can watch his current 4-way jumps with Performance Desired and with Arizona Airspeed in 8-way at the special NSL-TV pages of the USPA Nationals 2008. Most importantly: visit the movie website and help to bring this unique and inspiring story to the general public.
