Did You Know...

... that Arizona Divewerkz will continue in 2009?

AZDW with Annie Peterson at the USPA Nationals 2008
posted Dec 24th, 2008 - The NSL News reported on 12 December 2008 that Arizona Divewerkz' center inside, Annie Peterson, has become the new point for the US national team in the female category, Fastrax Blue.

Annie Peterson said that she did not know Arizona Divewerkz' plans for the near future and the 2009 season when she committed to the Fastrax Blue slot. The NSL News contacted Arizona Divewerkz directly to find out more.

The 2008 season was a very successful year for the "national amateur champion" in the AAA/Open Class, as the NSL News reported on 7 November 2008. The Arizona team took a short break after the USPA Nationals 2008 and did not have a plan for 2009 in November.

AZDW point Blane Boynton
The team's point, Blane Boynton, now updated the NSL News and said that Arizona Divewerkz will continue in 2009. The center inside slot is still open, however, the three remaining team members, Blane Boynton (Point), Cindy Nieves (Tail), Chad Smith (Center Outside), have already decided to look for a new team member.

Blane Boynton added that Arizona Divewerkz is proud of Annie Peterson, and her former team mates wish her well with her new team: "Divewerkz is proud of Annie, and the remaining line-up wishes her well in the pursuit of a top US women's team."

AZDW uses the winter break to define a new plan. The team is negotiating with its sponsors and supporters, and has already identified the candidates for the open slot. These candidates have been approached directly, and news of the selection will follow soon.

Divewerkz also announced that the team's partnership with one of the main sponsors will be continued, as Blane Boynton said: "We are also pleased to continue our relationship with Aerodyne Research in 2009."

Remaining AZDW 3-way will move on in 2009
The AZDW members expect to pick up the pace in 2009 where they left off at the end of the 2008 season. They plan to continue with the same steep progression that the team has shown ever since it was founded in 2004.

Last not least, the AZDW Mentorship Program will be continued, as well. This coaching project has been a part of the team's support efforts and a way to give back to the Formation Skydiving community, as Blane Boynton explained: "We will continue to give back to the FS community through support of the Mentorship Program and participation in other events."

He hopes that his team will be able to follow up soon with an exciting announcement of the new team member. He expects that it will take only a few weeks until the new linep for the 2009 season will be complete. Then the AZDW 2009 lineup will make plans for the new season and share the news with the 4-way community.
