Did You Know...

... that Becca's Bootie Boogie focuses on Formation Skydiving?

Rebecca Minkin with Airplay in May 2008...
posted Jan 28th, 2009 - Rebecca Minkin caught the NSL News attention for the first time when she attended her first 4-way competition at the May meet of the Florida Skydiving League in Sebastian (Archives > 2008 > Leagues > Florida > Meet 3 Results). The three event stories mentioned her team, Airplay, and her own Point part in it briefly. It was the beginning of a serious addiction to Formation Skydiving competition.

Becca came back for another FSL meet in 2008, the NSL Playoffs event in September at Skydive City where she competed with a different lineup. She had already moved on a good step in her skydiving career in the meantime, as the NSL News reported on 25 September 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > Search for "Becca"):

"Rebecca Minkin even had an 8.2 experience in the A Class after her competition with Airplay at the FSL May meet in Sebastian. She just recently completed her AFF Instructor course successfully, and a quite exciting video of her AFF experience has been circulating in the skydiving comunity."

...and with Skyhookers in September
The competition season was over for her after the playoffs in September, as she did not have a team for the NSL Championship at SkyQuest 2008. This motivated her even more to prepare early for the 2009 season. She has trained a lot ever since, in the Orlando windtunnel and outdoors at her home dropzone in Sebastian. She is ready to join a new and committed lineup for the 2009 season.

Becca has been hands on in her life. She has moved on with other projects while she is waiting for the right team opportunity in 4-way. Her passion for Formation Skydiving motivated her to make plans for her own event that focuses on her favorite discipline: "Becca's Bootie Boogie".

The event is just around the corner, as it is scheduled for 6 - 8 February 2009 at Skydive Sebastian. Her own experiences in the 4-way community inspired her to use the event also as a fun networking opportunity for people who are looking for serious teams, or who would just like to do some 4-ways with no serious commitments:

Sebastian Tempest with coach Thomas Hughes
"I really want to get a lot of information out about the NSL at the boogie. I want people to know the upcoming season's schedule and anything else about the NSL/FSL. Try to get some new teams together and inspired!"

She provided the NSL News with the details of Becca's Bootie Boogie, which seems to offer something for everybody and a lot of fun. World class competitor Thomas Hughes will help with coaching and load organizing, assisted by Sebastian Tempest members Kris Peterson and Chris Ash, former XL videographer Rob Stevenson, Kip Lohmiller, Jeff Nebelkopf and others. Skydive Sebastian will have two Super Twin Otters flying for the event.

Rebecca Minkin can be found on Facebook and contacted directly by e-mail.
