Did You Know...

... that Evolution scored the second highest meet average in history last weekend?

Evolution with new Point Katie Woods last weekend
posted Mar 11th, 2013 - The indoor scores from the Czech Republic did not last too long on the front page. They have been replaced by a new leaderboard from Canada where SkyVenture Montreal hosted the Canadian Indoor Championship 2013.

It was a multi-category event and included 4way in three competition classes (AAA - AA - A). In addition, the Rookie Class competitors had their own category in a 4way Scrambles event. Tunnel flyers also competed in VFS 2way and 4way, a "Neo Freestyle" competition and in "Artistic".

The NSL News singled out the AAA Class scores of Evolution, Canada's national 4way team, who posted scores with the new lineup for the second time.

Closer race with Dubai Nexus in VFS 4way
The first Evolution scores with Katie Woods in the Point slot and the three Lemay brothers in new positions came from Singapore in December 2012. Evolution finished in 3rd place behind Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP shortly after the Mondial Dubai 2012.

There was no serious competition for Evolution at the national indoor championships, and the team could focus more on the duel with Dubai Nexus in the VFS 4way competition.

The Canadians were still 20 points behind the VFS silver medalists of the Mondial 2012 in Singapore (340 - 320). The competition was much tighter last weekend, and Evolution's VFS lineup finished only five points behind Nexus (234-229).

2nd place in the NSL Poll for the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship
The 31.5 average in the traditional 4way Open Class competition is the second highest score that was ever posted at a competition. NMP-PCH Hayabusa owns this record after the 7-round indoor meet with a 32.9 average in Roosendaal in November 2010.

Both meets did not go over ten rounds and included Super Sequences. Last weekend's competition had even two sequences with only Random Formations. Evolution had scored the previous 29.6 average in Singapore after eleven rounds, which exhausted the complete dive pool.

However, the Canadian team seems to be warmed up and well prepared for the first outdoor competition this week, the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013, and the audience has Evolution in 2nd place behind Arizona Airspeed and ahead of Sky Panthers Barkli at the moment. The NSL News will follow up with more information of the other Canadian teams at the indoor championship.
