Did You Know...

... that new Evolution videos are showing 16 competition rounds less than a week before the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013?

Earlier arrivals in DeLand: Eliana Rodriguez and Khalid Al Marzooqi
posted Mar 13th, 2013 - It is getting busier at the hosting skydiving center of the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013, Skydive DeLand. Visiting teams are arriving every day and try to get as many warmup jumps in as possible before the start of the competition on Friday morning.

The event begins with the opening ceremony, including team introduction and live competition draw, at the Clarion Hotel DeLand on Thursday evening. The first five rounds will then be completed on Friday, which is the end of the first half and determines each team's handicap for the annual Shamrock Showdown Skins Game. The weather forecast is perfect, and the second half of the meet will be completed on Saturday.

Each round of the second half (6-10) has $400 on stake for the winner after handicap, kindly provided by the event sponsor, Paraclete XP's Tim and John D'Annunzio, who are also providing the prize money for the three best teams in the AAA Class.

Pain in the shoulder: Martin Lemay last weekend at SkyVenture Montreal
One of the late arrivals will be Evolution from Canada who are scheduled to make it to DeLand tonight. The team competed last weekend at the Canadian Indoor Championship 2013 and completed a total of 16 rounds in the two days of competition in Montreal.

Martin, Vincent and Benoit Lemay completed eight rounds with Katie Woods in traditional 4way and added eight more rounds in the VFS 4way duel with Dubai Nexus. Jean-Christophe Ouimet was flying the VFS 4way slot with the three Lemay brothers.

The newest NSL-TV video, provided by SkyVenture Montreal and Skydiving Photograhpy, features Evolution in both events.

In training: Sky Panthers Barkli
A few days of rest after the indoor competition will be helpful, especially if a dislocated shoulder is a part of the recovery process. Martin Lemay is trying to get his shoulder back in well functioning order as quickly as possible, while the main opponents at the upcoming competition will be warming up.

Sky Panthers Barkli have been in training at the competition site for over a week, while Arizona Airspeed was training in Eloy at the same time, together with a.team4way and Thunder. All three teams have Wednesday as the travel day and will make a few warmup jumps on Thursday in DeLand.

The Canadian delegation is split in half on the way down from Montreal to DeLand. Father Michel Lemay is flying Katie Woods and son Vincent south. Martin and Benoit Lemay are driving the long distance by car, together with Jean-Christophe Ouimet who is filming Evolution in traditional 4way.
