The new Evolution lineup, with the three Lemay brothers Martin, Vincent, Benoit and Katie Woods in the Point slot and VFS 4way competitor Jean Christophe Oumet on camera, had their first showdown with Airspeed's previous world champion lineup at the indoor competition in Singapore. Airspeed outscored the new Evolution lineup in all ten rounds in December 2012.
The previous Evolution lineup, with father Michel Lemay in the Center Inside slot, never trained enough to be a serious threat for Arizona Airspeed and did not win or tie a round between 2010 and 2012, neither against Airspeed's 2010 nor the 2012 linup. Things have changed now, and Airspeed has to watch out for a new challenger from Canada.

The Canadian team was also much closer than the official scores are showing. Evolution collected the incredible total of 20 point deductions in the ten rounds, which was by far the worst damage of all participating teams. The additional 20 points would have brought Evolution's total to 229 points, which would have tied Airspeed's total before penalties.
Airspeed still had their own troubles and lost eleven points in the judging room. Yet it seems as if the world champions have only about a 1-point average advantage over the new Canadian lineup at this point in time. Thomas Hughes and Mark Kirkby were still 34 points ahead of the new Evolution team in Singapore after eleven rounds.

The cirumstances were surely not the most favorable ones for Evolution when the competition began, and it did not get much better quickly. Jean Christophe Oumet had problems with his camera in Round 1, and his team lost four points due to a shaky video presentation, as the new NSL-TV video shows. However, the young team was committed and made their way through the ten rounds with the first impressive outdoor scores.
Round 8 will make the history books as the first time that a Canadian 4way team outscored Arizona Airspeed at a 4way competition, and the 20-pointer also won $400 in the Shamrock Showdown Skins Game. It may not have been the last Evolution highscore...
