posted Mar 22nd, 2013 - There were only three teams at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 who mastered the double challenge of a slow competition draw and sharp judging with higher meet averages compared to the teams' specific scoring histories.

Anima from Brazil and the new national team for the United Arab Emirates, Dubai Asaar Black, posted higher numbers than in 2012. Both teams had some support by their coaches who filled open slots, Niklas Hemlin for Anima and Craig Girard for Dubai Asaar Black.

One team competed with exactly the same lineup as in 2012 and still managed to post the highest AAA Class meet average in team history - Carolina Turbo XP.

The new Turbo record average moves the young team once again closer to the US top level. Three US teams competed in the AAA Class at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013, and the personnel changes for Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP have played out to the advantage of the next full time team in the USA. Carolina Turbo XP is closer to Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP than ever before.

Airspeed still competed with Niklas Hemlin at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2013 and was far ahead of all other teams. However, Rhythm, with Solly Williams in the Center Inside position, was able to keep closer than at any previous meets.

The two best US 4way teams then showed up with their new lineups at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship and had to allow the identical and well prepared Carolina Turbo XP lineup to cut into last year's distance and the indoor results in February.

There were still a few other teams who placed between Turbo and Airspeed at the USPA Nationals 2012. However, the days seem to be numbered that Turbo will allow any other US teams to get into their way of placing right next to the two top teams.

All Turbo members are now full time skydivers at Skydive Carolina in Chester. It is the first year for the team to focus only on 4way competition and on working in the skydiving business. The first results of the efforts are showing.

Turbo finished with an 18.2 outdoor average after the 20.1 indoor average in February. It seems to be almost guaranteed that the indoor average will turn into an outdoor number at the next meet, and the outdoor season in Chester has hardly begun. The three generations of 4way teams in the USA are taking over the top of the US leaderboards.
