The Dutch national team Whooops competed at the Mondial Dubai 2012 in December and went into winter hibernation after that. The long outdoor break is over now, and Whooops launched the 2013 season with a training camp in DeLand at the same time as the Russian national team.
Both teams accomplished their goals and completed over 100 training jumps in ten days. Then they decided to have a training competition at the end of the camp. Whooops coach Gary Smith was responsible for the judging and provided the NSL News with scores and videos.

Both teams had agreed to apply a handicap that was based on the results at the Mondial Dubai 2012 where Barkli and Whooops had represented their countries. Gary Smith explained in the conversation with the NSL News how the handicap effected the training competition.
Whooops now wanted to post a 15+ average on the public and official NSL leaderboard at the FSL meet on Saturday. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, and Whooops has to wait for the next opportunity, which will come with the annual Tomscat Trophy in June. Barkli's next competition after the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 is coming up at the beginning of May in Kolomna.

Gary Smith said that there will be competition for Whooops in the Netherlands this year. Dutch AAA Class team Creeps performed very well at the World Challenge 2013 and finished with a 17.8 average in Bedford, after a previous 19.3 average at the Aerokart Indoor Championship 2013.
Creeps competed in the AA Class until 2010, took a year off in 2011 and came back in the AAA Class competition of 2012. The distance to Whooops was not much more than a point per round in 2012, and the national team will probably have some more work to fend off Creeps this year.
