... that the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship had an international AA Class competition?

7.8 at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013
posted Apr 25th, 2013 - The Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 included an AA Class competition, as well. Three teams signed up for this category and had a great competition over six rounds.

It was an international competition, as Pari-Passu was the second team from the Netherlands (Cool Runnings - AAA Class) who concluded a spring training camp in DeLand with the meet test at the end. Home team DeLand DeLand and Teiwaz represented the Florida Skydiving League.

The three teams finished within 11 points after six rounds, and Teiwaz with one of the team's numerous lineups, took the 1st place. DeLand DeLand and Pari-Passu had a great battle for the 2nd place and were separated by only two points. The Dutch team lost this duel in Round 1 with camera trouble at the exit.

Pari-Passu in the Dutch Rookie Class of 2009
Pari-Passu is one of the many teams in the Netherlands who have used the four NSL competition classes to learn the dive pool step by step and move up and forward when they feel ready for the next technical challenges.

Vincent de Jong, Petra Engwerda, Ron Rovers and Arjan Smit were in the first and original Pari-Passu lineup and launched the team project in the Dutch Rookie Class of 2009. Petra Engwerda, Ron Rovers and Arjan Smit are still training and competing with Pari-Passu. Marion Weijman joined the team in 2012 and completes the current lineup in its second year. Eelco van Hoeven has replaced Delcia Ensing on camera.

Pari-Passu staid in the Rookie Class only for one year (7.0 - 7.1) and then moved up into the A Class competition (6.0 - 7.5) of 2010. The 2011 season was the team's second year in the A Class (7.6 - 8.7) with the first international competition, the ESL Championship 2011 where Pari-Passu confirmed the 2011 scoring level with an 8.5 average.

First international meet: ESL Championship 2011
It was time for the AA Class in 2012, and Pari-Passu's current lineup attended three outdoor meets last year (7.4 - 8.4 - 7.1) including once again the ESL Championship, plus the ISR Grand Prix 2012 for the second time.

The 2013 season began with a spring training camp in DeLand, scheduled for the same time period as the other Dutch team, Cool Runnings, and with the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship at the end of the camp.

The 7.8 average after six rounds is the best start into a new competition season for Pari-Passu, and there is still time before the annual Tomscat Trophy will see most of the Dutch teams come together in June. That's the meet where Pari-Passu posted last year's 7.4 average for a season opener. A successful 2013 season might bring the Dutch team up into the AAA Class competition next year...
