Did You Know...

... that Whooops had a happy ending at the Tomscat Trophy 2013?

AAA Class awards at the Tomscat Trophy 2013
posted Jun 16th, 2013 - The 19th edition of the Tomscat Trophy was successfully completed on Sunday after all ten scheduled rounds.

It was a thriller for the 2nd place in the AAA Class from the beginning to the end, and Whooops made it a happy ending for the 4way national team of the Netherlands. Creeps offered stiff opposition throughout the whole meet, and both teams were tied in 2nd place going into the last round.

Whooops still worked out a 1-point lead at the end of the first day after a terrible start and added two points in Round 6. Creeps won Round 7 by four points and had a 1-point lead Saturday night. The battle continued and took the next turn when Whooops won Round 8 by two points. Creeps was still not done yet and tied the game in Round 9. It was an exciting race, which might be repeated at the Dutch Nationals later this year.

30 minutes of indoor flight time for Half Ginger
Mike Pennock reported that the meet was resumed at 9.00 am on Sunday morning after a windy Saturday: "The weather was so nice and sunny that we where able to finish Round 10 by 3.00 pm."

He said that the meet was just as exciting in the A Class as it was in the AAA Class: "Bad Habits surprised others and themselves with the highscore of 19 points in the last round beating all A Class teams by three points. This amazing score gave them the four points they needed to pass Angry Birds and take the 2nd place."

The meet management made it even more exciting for the AAA Class showdown, as Mike Pennock explained: "To keep the suspense between the two teams, they where judged and scored at the very end, which added up to a climax for the audience and a perfect ending of this year's Tomscat Trophy."

Maybe next year: Rookie Class winner Novastar
This year's Stimulation Prize was presented to Half Ginger, the winner of the AA Class competition. Rookie Class winner Novastar was another candidate, as Mike Pennock had explained earlier.

The stimulation price is sponsored in the 3rd year by Indoor Skydive Roosendaal. 30 minutes of free flight time are awarded to the team that has made the most out of a small budget and stands out with enthusiasm and commitment in an effort to become better.

Next year's Tomscat Trophy will be the 20th edition. Mike Pennock is hoping to welcome 20 teams to the anniverary event.
