Did You Know...

... that a British - Irish AA Class duel keeps both teams on the top?

AAA Class winner last weekend: UK team Nuevo
posted Jul 18th, 2013 - The 4way teams from the United Kingdom did it once again and took all four top positions on last weekend's overall leaderboard.

It was the third time this year that UK teams mixed up with teams from other countries and won all four NSL categories in May, June and July. There were only two teams in each of the AAA and AA categories at Skydive Northwest on the Cark Airfield last weekend. However, Nuevo (AAA) and Anti Gravity Ninja Swans (AA) won the first two top spots for the United Kingdom.

The UK event had the biggest participation in the A Class where eight teams had signed up. Winner Sky Tramps had no problem with 55 North from the Midwest Skydiving League, and five other British A Class teams were ahead of the MWSL team, as well. The Sea Fury lineup of the Royal Navy won the Rookie Class competition at the team's third meet this year.

AA Class top team: Anti Gravity Ninja Swans
The two teams in the AA Class at the Cark Airfield had to work hard for their top positions. This category was the strongest one in the Midwest Skydiving League last weekend, and the six MWSL teams included two top contenders (CSC Survival Instinct, Hawks) who performed on the same level as the UK teams.

The separate AA Class overall leaderboard shows that each of the four top teams scored or tied at least one highscore for a single round. In fact, the winner had the highscore only in two of the six rounds, and Taranis from Ireland even claimed one more round.

The two AA Class teams at the UKSL competition have been pushing each other all year long and benefitted once again from the ongoing challenge. Anti Gravity Ninja Swans and Taranis both needed new record averages to fend off the MWSL teams.

Challenger from Ireland: Taranis
Anti Gravity Ninja Swans and Taranis began their AA Class race at the World Challenge 2013 and have been perfectly in step with each other meet by meet ever since. Both teams have increased their averages at each of the UKSL outdoor meets, and they have not missed one yet.

Anti Gravity Ninja Swans have won all four competitions with Taranis so far, indoor and outdoor. However, things have changed, and the race has become much more exciting. AGNS won by 21 points at Bodyflight Bedford (15.3 - 13.2) and by seven points after three rounds (10.0 - 7.7) at the first outdoor meet in May.

The winning margin was down to three points after three rounds (10.3 - 9.3) in June and has now shrunk to a single point (11.2 - 11.0) last weekend. The UK winning average in June would not have been enough to outscore the best US team last weekend, and the British - Irish AA Class duel helps to keep both teams on the top of the overall leaderboard.
