Did You Know...

... that FSL team Keey It had a very flexible lineup last weekend?

Two days for six rounds: Pyro4ic
posted Jul 25th, 2013 - Seven teams of the Florida Skydiving League added scores to last weekend's overall leaderboard, with four of them completing up to six rounds at Skydive City in Zephyrhills. The rainy summer weather made it once again very difficult. Pyro4ic and Miami Exuberance both needed two days to complete the six rounds that no other team was able to do on only one day.

DeLand teams did not get in the air at all and would have brought the total number of Florida teams to ten, which shows the recent impact of the FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando and the Indoor Cloud League on 4way outdoor competition in Florida. Meet director at Skydive City, Bob Byrne, once again confirmed the results of the successful Tunnel Kicker/Indoor Cloud League program: "The teams continue to progress, thanks largely to the coaching received through the NSL iFLY Tunnel Kicker series and FSL meets."

Very flexible lineup: Keey It
Meet director and coach Bob Byrne had his own active part last weekend, even though Teiwaz did not attend. The AA Class team Keey It had a very colorful and flexible lineup that changed several times during the four completed rounds.

Only Center Outside Keith Walter and videographer Juan Lopez completed all four rounds in the same slot. Yvette Walter was the Point for the first three rounds, and Mallory McCormick took her slot in Round 4. Emily Zastrow (Rounds 1 and 2) and Sam Brasfield (Round 3) shared the Tail slot with Yvette Walter who moved from Point to Tail in Round 4.

Bob Byrne had his turn in Round 4, as the Center Inside for Keey It. Drew Zastrow (Rounds 1 and 2) and Christine Freiherr (Round 3) had driven the AA Class team engine before. Keey It had no competition in this category at Skydive City but kept up very well with the best French teams on last weekend's overall leaderboard.

Tough local A Class competition: Zunday
Pyro4ic and Miami Exuberance had an exciting battle over the six rounds that only those two teams completed over the whole weekend. Both teams ended up tied behind Zunday who had Dave Ruffle as a player coach in Gary Fox's Center Inside slot.

Last weekend's meet was a big step for Pyro4ic. Rebecca Kristof, Grant Underland, Fred Bonneville and Matt Hillson, with Ronald Brabant on camera, had competed in the Rookie Class (7.7 - 6.2 - 9.3) at the first three FSL meets this year. Now they stepped up into the A Class competition and mastered the first six sequences with a total of five blocks. The 6.5 average is a great starting point in the new category.

It could have been even better for Pyro4ic without the total of four point deductions. The pace in Rounds 2 and 3 was good enough to keep up or even outscore the other local team Zunday who have been competing in the A Class since the beginning of the 2013 season. There is a good race for the upper local Z-Hand to be expected at each of the remaining FSL meets this year.
