Did You Know...

... that Israeli Freestyle competitor Daphny Morali brought the World Cup 2013 to a beautiful ending?

Freestyle competitor Daphny Morali
posted Aug 29th, 2013 - The Sun Path Products NSL News coverage of the World Cup 2013 would not be complete without the final wrap-up by Joey Jones.

It came after the award ceremony on Sunday afternoon where the French national anthem, the Marseillaise, was played many times. The French gold medals in Formation Skydiving competition (8way Open, 4way Women) were only a part of the complete medal collection for France in Banja Luka. The Marseillaise was played nine times, including the Artistic Events, since there were also awards for the European Championships, which were a part of the World Cup event.

The Freestyle team from Israel did not win any medals. However, competitor Daphny Morali had her own music for an acrobatic performance that will probably be remembered and related to the World Cup in Banja Luka for a long time. Her performance is the theme for the last NSL Reality TV clip of the World Cup 2013.

Award ceremony at the World Cup 2013
It does not happen very often that the US delegation leaves an international competition site without a gold medal in Formation Skydiving competition, and Joey Jones was not too happy about that. Even the last two World Cups in Europe (Germany 2011, Czech Republic 2012) with traditionally small US participation brought gold medals in 8way (Golden Knights 2011) and 4way Women (Golden Knights 2012) for the US collection.

The World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk was the last time that teams from the USA went back home without any gold medals. It could not have been any closer in 4way Women after jump-off and tie breaking procedure, but it was still only a second place for the Golden Knights, the only US team in Banja Luka.

On the other side, there was a very happy delegation from the United Arab Emirates. Dubai Nexus won the first gold medals for the country in Formation Skydiving competition, possibly in any skydiving discipline ever. The UAE anthem was played and took the place of the Marseillaise.

First FS gold medals for United Arab Emirates: Dubai Nexus
Jason Russell, Dubai Nexus team captain and CEO at Skydive Dubai, initiated the Dubai Project several years ago and has brought it to fruition in many ways. The Mondial Dubai 2012 was a spectacular event, and his own team has won the first gold medals for Dubai. The other Dubai Asaar Formation Skydiving teams are moving up the leaderboard step by step and with the guidance by Craig Girard and Eliana Rodriguez.

The Sun Path Products NSL News had a few minutes with Jason Russell after his own appearance on the podium with Dubai Nexus, and he seems to have a little secret that will be lifted at a later time.

Daphny Morali finishes off the video clip and brought the World Cup 2013 in Banja Luka to a beautiful ending. Next event with Sun Path Products NSL News live coverage is the USPA Nationals 2013.
