Did You Know...

... that Perris Fury had the better exit?

posted Mar 20th, 2009 - The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 is in full swing. Two rounds have already been completed by the teams that are on competition site. MD Fooza and Teiwaz will join the meet tomorrow morning and catch up round by round.

Round 3 was not really planned for Friday, however, teams are in the air and will complete the additional round today, as weather conditions may be critical on Sunday.

Airspeed Odyssey's Round 1 - see video
Two videos of Round 1 are available for reviews. Airspeed Odyssey and France Maubeuge are already in the tight competition that was expected. Both teams tied their scores in Round 1 without any penalties.

Things changed in Round 2 when Airspeed completed 26 points in time and had only a 23-pointer on the official CamScore screen. France Maubeuge had a clean 24-pointer and has a 1-point lead after Round 2. Perris Fury completed and received 23 points, while Spaceland Force lost a point.

Perris Fury had the better exit
A funny little coincidence happened on Airspeed's and Fury's travel to Florida. Both teams ended up in the same commercial airliner from Houston to Orlando on Thursday. Next morning, both teams ended up in the same plane again, this time in Skydive DeLand's Twinotter.

The NSL News asked for some details of the flight from Houston to Orlando. Mark Kirkby had the right answer: "Perris Fury had the better exit..."

The scores for Round 3 will be posted later, stay tuned.

CamScore is working flawlessly and can be seen all over dropzone. The world-class judges see any flaw and infringement, it seems as if nothing can slip through. The 70% judging speed for the second viewing confirms a penalty situation easily and also shows when a formation is really complete.

The NSL-TV camera captured scenes of the final preparations for Round 1 in a Reality TV format. The meet atmosphere can be checked out by clicking here.
