posted Mar 20th, 2009 - Round 3 was indeed completed at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009, and the competition is just as exciting as it could be.

The results of Friday's last round were almost a mirror of Round 2. Airspeed Odyssey fought back and benefitted this time from mistakes by France Maubeuge and related point deductions. The NSL News will find out tomorrow how many French points got lost in Round 3. However, the new battle between Airspeed Odyssey and France Maubeuge is in full swing.

Spaceland Force XP showed the team's teeth clearly for the first time in Round 3 and outscored Perris Fury. The Perris team suffered point deductions in this round, as well. Spaceland is now a point ahead in 3rd place and shows already that the only goal is the number one position in the USA.

It will be a difficult task for the two US challengers, as Airspeed Odyssey is once again performing stronger than ever. The reigning 4-way world champions won the first day by two points over France, each team won a round and tied one. All highscores were posted by Airspeed or France.

The Skins Game for cash prizes begins after Round 5. The teams have two more rounds tomorrow morning to establish their averages. Then they will receive a handicap, and each team will have the chance to win a round with a great performance.

The overall winner of the AAA Class competition will receive additional $1,000. Airspeed Odyssey won the jackpot in 2007 and 2008, and they surely have their eyes once again on the money for the first place. A total of $1,400 will be divided between the winners of the five rounds of the Skins Game. It begins with $150 for the winner of Round 6 and peaks with $500 for the winner of Round 10.
