Did You Know...

... that the Mideast Skydiving League is proud of its teams?

Mideast Skydiving League
posted Jun 16th, 2005 - The Mideast Skydiving League has become one of the strongest leagues in the country. MESL Director Randy Connell's efforts and the positive impact of the Team Fastrax project has already increased 4-way interest and participation in the MESL area. Connell and Fastrax founder John Hart have even more benefits in mind and not only for the MESL.

Connell recently invited MESL teams and competitors to the upcoming second 2005 competition at the Fastrax home turf in Greensburg. He used the opportunity to point out statistics of the MESL season opener in May and regional specifics. Connell also encouraged his following to take a look at the bigger NSL picture:

Hey everybody!

This weekend is Meet 2 of the 2005 season! The meet will be held at Skydive Greensburg and we want to go "wheels up" at 8am. For those of you who live in Ohio or Kentucky, don't forget about the time change!

The file attached to this email is the handicapped score sheet from Meet 1. Remember, the way Jared and I have set this up, the handicapped scores apply only WITHIN the Mideast League. Jared has included a column in the score sheet that some of you might find interesting. It is labeled "goal." If I understood this right from Jared, the goal is the average score a team needs to make at this MESL Meet 2 to win after handicap. If I have that wrong, I am sure Jared will correct me!

Some interesting stats for you all from Meet 1. There were a total of 81 teams competing that weekend, world-wide. Our teams put up a pretty solid showing. Fastrax was 2nd and Fastrax Select was 9th out of 33 AAA Class teams. In the AA Class, we had Airtight at #2, Soylent Greene at #4, Vortex tied for 7th and Old, Cold and Grumpy was 11th out of 20 teams. Foreplay was 5th (of 11) in the Recreational/Rookie Class.

In the overall NSL scores, as of today, put Fastrax in 9th position and Fastrax Select in 24th position in their AAA Class. The AA Class carries Airtight in 11th, Soylent Greene in 13th, Vortex tied in 17th and Old, Cold and Grumpy in a tie for 18th. The cool news is that Foreplay is tied in 4th position on a national basis in the Recreational/Rookie Class.

This weekend's jump order will be: Fastrax - Fastrax Select - Soylent Greene - Vortex - Fourway Foreplay - newly formed teams. Airtight is taking the weekend off because one of their guys had made plans, and Old, Cold and Grumpy isn't making it to this one. DC3 is still fighting injuries in their lineup and I haven't heard what their plans are. I have been told that there is at least one, probably two new teams that are forming. I will be at the DZ Friday evening and will have the draw available for those who want to take a look after sunset. See you all on Saturday! Blue Skies! Randy

Team Fastrax
The weather forecast is promising for the upcoming weekend in the Mideast and Midwest area. There will once again be great competition in the northern parts of the country in each competition class. Team Fastrax will use the second MESL meet of the 2005 season as the last test before the team travels to Russia at the end of the month. Several of the best 4-way teams in the world have signed up for the Malevsky Memorial Cup 2005, and Fastrax will have the second opportunity of the 2005 season to get familiar with international world class competition. The NSL News will cover this event live on site.
