posted Dec 28th, 2013 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported the official IPC (International Parachuting Commission) world rankings of the International Air Sports Federation (FAI) on 23 December 2013.

Some of the positions were at least questionable, and the rankings of the 4way Open Class were not available at that point in time. The FAI has completed the official world rankings with the 4way Open Class statistics by now, and the complete rankings are available by clicking here.

The Sun Path Products NSL News mentioned in the same article that the USA were in 17th place at the end of the 2012 season, with reigning 4way world champions Arizona Airspeed as the country's national 4way team. It has not become much better for the USA in this category, as the national team, still Arizona Airspeed with a new lineup, is now in 19th place.

Belgium (NMP-PCH Hayabusa) is in 1st place, which is a very realistic assessment at the end of the 2013 season. France (Aerodyne Maubeuge) and Russia (Barkli) in 2nd and 3rd place is also close to reality. However, Arizona Airspeed has surely been located somewhere between 1st and 4th place throughout the 2013 season.

The FAI world rankings take only scores at the "1st Category Events" into the calculation, roughly the World Championships of Formation Skydiving and the World Cups, plus the European Championships. It is also a 4-year period that counts for the FAI positions.

Arizona Airspeed won the silver medals at the World Championship 2010 in Menzelinsk and the gold medals at the Mondial Dubai 2012. It was still only enough for the 19th place at the end of the 2013 season. Canada (Evolution), with a 5th place in 2010 and a 4th place in 2012, finished in 20th place behind the USA.

The end of the year is just as well a good time for the SKYLEAGUE.COM online audience to get involved and make an independent call on the same topic. New polls have been installed, and they offer the option to vote for the world's best teams in Formation Skydiving competition.

The polls offer multiple selections, and the results of all votes should determine realistic rankings of the teams who have competed in the time period between the Mondial Dubai 2012 and the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championship 2013.

The SKYLEAGUE.COM polls are supposed to be based on the scores that the teams have posted within this time period, including regional, national and international championships. The first poll is dedicated to one of the two most traditional events in Formation Skydiving competition, the 4way Open Class. The other categories will be added day by day.
