posted Dec 30th, 2013 - Selecting the leader in the unofficial 8way World Rankings does not seem to be more difficult than in 4way Open. The first results have the reigning 8way world champions from the USA, the Golden Knights, clearly in 1st place.

Russia's Barkli 8way lineup has no votes yet, even though it is probably in 3rd place at the moment. It also seems as if the online audience agrees with Dubai Asaar's 8way team in 4th place at this point in time, even though the Dutch 8way team M8trix, with great plans for the 2014 season, is keeping up.

Dubai Asaar's current position in the polls, ahead of Russia, might even indicate what to expect in the future. The combination of talent, coaching expertise and experiences, plus resources, could allow Craig Girard and Eliana Rodriguez to bring their 8way team into medal contention next year. Russia may have to watch out...

The next poll takes on the situation in the female 4way category at the end of the 2013 season. Voting for the leader could have been easier since the two best teams in the world, Aerodyne French Girls and Golden Knights, have competed directly with and against each other at the World Cup 2013. However, the competition in Banja Luka actually did not make it any easier at all, as both teams were tied all the way through a jump-off round.

French Girls and Golden Knights then went their own ways (USPA Nationals - 4th DIPC 2013), and the audience has to find out how to break the tie for the online poll.

Polaris easily won the bronze medals at the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championship 2013. However, the decision for the 3rd place in the unofficial World Rankings might still be as difficult as for the 1st place.

The two top contenders for the selection as the 2014 national team for the United Kingdom, Bodyflight Isis and Kaizen, were pushing each other throughout the 2014 season and both ended up on the Polaris scoring level at their national championships.

Polaris is the reigning bronze medalist of the Mondial Dubai 2012 where the Norwegian team placed right ahead of UK's national 4way team, Bodyflight Langar. However, Kaizen posted a 17.9 average at the UK Nationals 2013 and will not slow down. In fact, UK teams in the female 4way category are used to competing for gold medals, and Kaizen might not even think about the 3rd place.

The rankings behind the four medal contenders of 2013, and probably also of 2014, are just as difficult to determine. Canada (Fuzion), United Arab Emirates (Dubai Asaar Ladies) and Sweden (Fire) posted scores this year, which were relatively close to each other. The Dubai Asaar Ladies outscored Fuzion at the 4th DIPC 2013, who had posted a 15.6 average at their national championships. It seems to be another open race...
