Did You Know...

... that that Wait & See is looking for a new Center Inside?

Wait & See 2008 lineup
posted Mar 30th, 2009 - The NSL News had introduced a new AAA Class lineup of the Mideast Skydiving League with the story on 25 June 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > Search for "Wait & See").

The player coach team Wait & See, with former Fastrax members John Hart and Niklas Hemlin, attended three MESL meets in 2008 and posted 6-round averages between 12.8 and 13.5 on their home turf at Start Skydiving in Lebanon, Ohio.

Matt Hunt (Point) and Greg Rich (Tail) completed the lineup last year, Michelle Albers was filming the team. They are now making plans to continue in 2009. Niklas Hemlin will once again fly the Center Outside slot. John Hart is not coming back for the 2009 season, and Wait & See is now looking for a new Center Inside. Matt Hunt said that his team is looking for a new team member who fits to the team's transition into a more traditional 3-1 player coach team.

Wait & See exit in 2008
The Wait & See team project was launched in 2007 when Matt Hunt, Greg Rich and Michelle Albers got acquainted at Skydive Chicago. At that time, they were all jumping with different teams based out of Skydive Chicago. Greg Rich trained and competed with the SDC Furies, Matt Hunt was jumping with a 16-way team, and Michelle Albers was flying video for the Otter Chaos 10-way speed team.

Matt Hunt remembered the first meeting: "After a brief chat, we found out we had common friends and experiences from the times of the Great Lakes Skydiving League activities in Ohio dating back to 2002-2004." The three original Wait & See members re-connected when the 2007 season was over.

Greg Rich was looking to do 4-way closer to his home in Ohio. Matt Hunt wanted to re-focus on 4-way after a short time off and several previous years of 4-way dating back to 1999. Michelle Albers' commitment to her 10-way team was also ending.

SDC Furies of 2007
Matt Hunt said that all of them wanted to check out the new Start Skydiving drop zone. They had some preparative conversations with owner John Hart over the winter, and result was the line-up for the 4-way training project in 2008.

The team trained at Start Skydiving, completed five outdoor training camps there and added one tunnel camp in 2008. The Wait & See 2008 lineup focused mainly on block techniques and fundamentals of the AAA Class dive pool and competed regularly at the MESL meets in Lebanon.

Matt Hunt said that his team was thrilled with the knowledge provided by the two Fastrax world-class competitors: "With all the experience brought to the effort by Niklas and John, it was like drinking from a fire hose for Greg, Michelle and me!"

Wait & See in 2008 action
Plan for 2009 is the transition to a more traditional player-coach arrangement with Niklas Hemlin leading the coaching effort.

Wait & See is now looking for a new motivated team member with some AAA Class dive pool experience for the Center Inside slot.

The team will continue to be based out of Start Skydiving in Lebanon, Ohio. A windtunnel camp at Paraclete XP in North Carolina is scheduled for the early spring. John Hart will still be helping out and flies the Center Inside slot at this tunnel camp.

Interested skydivers can get in touch directly with Matt Hunt by e-mail. The dates for this year's 4-way meets of the Mideast Skydiving League are posted at the league page.
