Did You Know...

... that DiZturbia has launched a 4-way project at Skydive City?

DiZturbia lineup
posted Apr 15th, 2009 - A new all-female 4-way team has formed at Skydive City in Zephyrhills, Florida.

Jaime Cruce, Christine Freiherr, Sarah Knipling and Laura Song have joined forces to represent Skydive City this year at the Florida Skydiving League meets and advance 4-way fun and competition in Z-Hills.

The team is called DiZturbia and will post the first scores this weekend at the second FSL meet of the regular season in DeLand. The team has already scheduled other 4-way activities at Skydive City for the 2009 season, the next one on April 26.

David "TK" Hayes addresses the FSL teams in 2008
Skydive City's manager David "TK" Hayes announced that the "DiZturbia 4-Way Day" will be a great learning experience for everyone from beginner to experienced skydiver:

"The members of our local team, DiZturbia (Jaime Cruce, Christine Freiherr, Sarah Knipling & Laura Song), will be available to help you build a solid foundation, specific to 4-way, as well as general Formation Skydiving skills.

Anyone who can safely jump with four people and video is welcome. Teams are arranged with experience levels in mind so that everyone feels challenged and comfortable. This is a great way for newer jumpers to learn about 4-way and meet people, or for experienced jumpers to do a day of good 4-way without the commitment of a team."

Original Windline Lightning lineup in 2001
On a DiZturbia 4-Way Day, each team will consist of three participants and one DiZturbia member.

The team members will follow the same process that they use when they train: with a focus on learning and fun in a non-competitive format. Each DiZturbia captain will take care of all of the details, including manifesting, arranging video, preparing dives and setting goals ahead of time.

The new lineup from Z-Hills has a lot of 4-way experiences and will be competitive. Sarah Knipling trained and competed with Windline Lightning for the Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales. Windline Lightning was formed in 2001, and the original lineup with Sarah Knipling won USPA gold medals in the AA/Intermediate Class on Lake Wales home turf in 2003.

Laura Song and Christine Freiherr with 12 Fluid Oz
Laura Song has been on different 4-way lineups from Skydive City in the past years and attended several FSL meets.

She joined the Perris Fury 8-way project in 2008 and competed at the USPA Nationals 2008 in the Open Class competition with Perris OGR. Christine Freiherr was in the same 8-way lineup last year.

Laura Song and Christine Freiherr were also 4-way teammates a year earlier. "12 Fluid Oz" attended three meets of the Florida Skydiving League 2007 and then competed at the USPA Nationals 2007 in the AA/Intermediate Class. Laura Song and Christine Freiherr now decided to come back to the 4-way event.

Jaime Cruce coaching at the Stetson Boogie
Jaime Cruce has the least 4-way experience, but she is well prepared. Her husband Rodney Cruce, Teiwaz and Inept member of the past years, has trained with her indoor and outdoor and knows her talent and skills. She already made the NSL News on 9 October 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > Search for "Stetson") when she helped Stetson University's Skydiving Club with 4-way coaching at the "Back-to-School Boogie" in DeLand.

The competition season begins for DiZturbia this weekend in DeLand. The DiZturbia 4-Way Day project then continues on a regular basis at Skydive City. Laura Song is the contact person and can be reached by e-mail. She will provide the details of the project.

The upcoming meet in DeLand will once again have an international atmosphere, as two teams from Denmark are currently training in DeLand. Sequence and Altius, both competed at the World Challenge 2009 just two weeks ago and now continued with outdoor training. The Italian team Enigma is also in DeLand and may join the competition, as well.
