Did You Know...

... that Mark Izzo is Vertical Obsession's new Center Inside?

Vertical Obsession at the NSL Championship 2008
posted Jun 4th, 2009 - The NSL News reported on 8 April 2009 that Vertical Obsession was looking for a new Center Inside.

Lee Staebler, Rob Jayne, Andrew Palermo, Jim Petrocelli and Markus Lucas had attended three meets in 2008, including the NSL Championship at SkyQuest 2008 in DeLand. The same lineup made plans for the 2009 season. However, only Lee Staebler, Rob Jayne and Andrew Palermo eventually came back and were missing a new team member in the team's driver's seat.

Vertical Obsession recently updated the NSL News with new information. It was great news for the team from Long Island, as they found an experienced competitor filling the open Center Inside slot. Mark Izzo, former Centerline XP member, will train and compete with Vertical Obsession in 2009.

Centerline XP attended two meets of the Ranch Skydiving League 2008 (14.0 - 12.5) season and also competed at the indoor competition (22.0) of the Carolina Skydiving League in July at Paraclete XP.

Mark Izzo and his Centerline XP team mates Justin and Cory Beaudreau, Brian Smith then moved on and won the silver medals at the USPA Nationals 2008 in the AAA/Advanced Class. The NSL News reported live from the competition site in Eloy.

Vertical Obsession trained and competed in the A Class in 2008 and had already made plans to move up into the AA Class in 2009. Mark Izzo will obviously bring a lot of knowledge and experience to his new team, as he steps down from the AAA Class to the AA Class dive pool and sequences.

Vertical Obsession has already decided to attend the USPA Nationals 2009, which will be hosted by Skydive Spaceland in Texas. It will be the team's first appearance at USPA Nationals.

Team member Lee Stabler told the NSL News that the new lineup had its first training session at Paraclete XP in Raeford. His team is looking forward to an exciting 2009 season, as he finished his update for the NSL News:

"We are anticipating a very productive season of both jumping and training in the windtunnel with our goal being to go and compete at Nationals this year in the Intermediate Class."
