posted Mar 14th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News posted an update on 19 February 2014 that covered Canada's national 4way team Evolution after the Valentines Meet 2014.

Evolution attended the meet even though there was not much serious competition for the Canadians in Eloy. Home team Arizona Airspeed did not attend since the team members served as player coaches for local and regional lineups. Evolution's 24.4 average came at the end of a winter training camp, which was also a part of the preparations for the Paraclete XP double header in March.

The three Lemay brothers Martin, Vincent and Benoit train and compete in traditional 4way and in VFS 4way and have big goals. They plan to win medals in both events at the World Meet 2014, and the first serious test for the double duties came up last weekend at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2014.

Valentine's Meet and Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2014 did not include VFS 4way, and Evolution's lineup for traditional 4way, with Katie Woods in the Point slot, could focus on one event only in Raeford.

The results were impressive, and it showed that Evolution is in fact on course to go after world meet medals this year. NMP-PCH Hayabusa was too far away, while Evolution ended up only five points behind Arizona Airspeed and outscored the 2012 silver medalist from France, the new Volt'R lineup.

That happened in Paraclete XP's 16-foot flying chamber, and it was just as exciting when the same three teams exited from jump planes in DeLand. Evolution outscored Airspeed in five rounds and tied another one for a 10-point difference after ten rounds. Volt'R ended up far behind in 3rd place.

It was a very challenging meet situation for Evolution, which was self-inflicted and planned. Team4speed from France competed in DeLand in a VFS 4way showdown with Evolution. The Canadians completed ten rounds in 4way Open with Katie Woods and eight rounds in VFS 4way with Jean Christophe Oumet in two days.

The situation for Evolution in VFS 4way is similar to 4way Open, where Hayabusa seems to be clearly ahead of the other top teams. Evolution will probably be in the race for the other two sets of medals. Team4speed, the French VFS world champions, are also far ahead of Evolution at the moment and seem to be out of reach. However, the Canadian VFS lineup has a realistic chance for silver or bronze medals. No competitor has ever won medals in those two events at the same world meet.

Coach Shannon Pilcher does not even limit the team goals in any way and does not exclude a chance for gold medals: "We will do everything possible to make the impossible possible..."
