Did You Know...

... that Dallas Rogue members help their Fusion 8-way friends?

Never trains: reigning 8-way champion Arizona Airspeed
posted Jun 9th, 2009 - The NSL News story on 2 May 2009 introduced the new 8-way team from Skydive Dallas, Dallas Rogue. The lineup consists of Ron Hill, Jim Rees, Ben Liston, Brian Stephens, Scott Latinis, Rodney Cruce, Dave Burton and Ari Perelman.

It is a group of very experienced and talented 4-way and 8-way competitors who will try this year to get as close as possible to the 8-way top contenders, Arizona Airspeed, Paraclete XP and Golden Knights. There are chances that Dallas Rogue might even challenge the top contenders seriously at the USPA Nationals.

Arizona Airspeed is the defending champion of many years, but the 8-way lineup never trains. The Golden Knights have a completely new lineup and begin from scratch, with the two veterans Brian "BK" Krause and Matt Davidson leading the effort. Paraclete XP has a new lineup, as well.

Ron Hill reported that Dallas Rogue completed the team's first training camp at Skydive Dallas in May and completed 54 training jumps. One of the training jumps can be viewed on NSL YouTube TV. Rogue also completed in indoor training camp on May 30 at Paraclete XP.

The Dallas teams helps the local Intermediate Class 8-way team Dallas Fusion during their own training camps. Rogue lead Fusion through all of the Intermediate Class 8-way blocks at the May training, with the Rogue members walking and talking their Fusion conterparts through each move.

Fusion is the project of head load organizer at Skydive Dallas, Allen Hively, and consists of Greg Flowers, Lucas King, Chet Kuhn, Scott Levy, Emily Lookadoo, Matt Mcmanus and Robbin Schmitt. The team's official alternate is Laurie Ross.

8-way Block 18
After Rogue's training was completed on Thursday, Rogue replaced two slots on the team with Fusion members. Fusion members Chet Kuhn and Scott Levy were put into their respective slots in the Rogue lineup and taken up for a 6-on-2 coaching dive.

The hybrid Rogue/Fusion team completed a 9-pointer within working time with a sequence that included Block 18. Dallas Rogue members will also help filling slots for missing Fusion members throughout the 2009 season when needed and available.
