Did You Know...

... that several FSL competitors could only observe the action at the May meet?

Gary Hansen, Alex Kolb, Rebecca Minkin
posted Jun 11th, 2009 - The NSL News has to go back one more time to the May meet of the Florida Skydiving League at Skydive Sebastian, just a little over a week before the next FSL meet takes place at Skydive City in Z-Hills.

There were only four teams that actually signed up for the meet. However, a few other FSL competitors were also on site who did not manage to recruite a complete lineup for the meet in time.

Gary Hansen and Alex Kolb traveled together with the Miami delegation to Sebastian. Gary Hansen trained and competed for years with ZT Mal4mations. Alex Kolb was a Zero Tolerance member in 2008. She moved up into the AA Class this year, together with her 2008 teammates Pam Manos, and Trevor Cedar. Daniel Garcia is the 4th member of Miami Synergy. He was not available for the meet in Sebastian, and Synergy will attend the team's first meet this year at Skydive City.

Miami Reyand with fan club
Pam Manos and Trevor Cedar used the opportunity to introduce two new skydivers from Skydive Miami to 4-way competition. They teamed up with Andrew Lee and Reinaldo Valentino and competed with Miami Reyand in the Rookie Class competition.

Miami Synergy's new Tail Alex Kolb could not just watch the competition action only from the ground all day long. Eventually, she ended up with a 4-way group that made a few jumps while the FSL meet was running. Gary Hansen was in the same situation and jumped with the same pickup team.

The Miami 2-way found another 4-way competitor on site who was not in a team for this meet and has been looking for an open slot this year. Rebecca Minkin attended a few meets with Sebastian SkyHookers last year and was ready to move on. Unfortunately, nothing has materialized for the Sebastian local so far.

Another 4-way group in Sebastian
However, Gary Hansen, Alex Kolb and Rebecca Minkin finally recruited a fourth person for a few 4-way jumps in Sebastian, but it was too late to join the actual competition.

There was also another additional 4-way group that made several fun 4-way jumps over the course of the meet day in Sebastian. They observed the competition action and received a few hints and tips from the FSL teams and competitors here and there.

Pam Manos, Trevor Cedar and Alex Kolb will take on the AA Class competition with Miami Synergy very soon. Gary Hansen is looking for a new A Class lineup in the southern part of Florida, and Rebecca Minkin is still ready to join a team with an open slot in the AA or AAA Class. The next delegation from Skydive Miami will travel to Zephyrhills next weekend.
