posted May 24th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News update from the DFU Open 2014 on 19 May 2014 covered mostly the impressive performance of the pickup team 1814.

The evaluation of last weekend's overall AAA Class leaderboard with teams from three different meets followed up yesterday with additional information, including the Danish national 4way team VAF Warriors.

The Sun Path Products NSL News has followed the progression of the new Danish national team since it was selected in September 2013 to compete for Denmark at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014. In fact, the Sun Path Products NSL News followed the VAF Warriors from the very start of the team project at the beginning of 2013 and before they were officially selected.

The VAF Warriors did not really aim at the Danish top spot at the beginning. The team goal was a set of medals at the DFU Open and the Danish Nationals 2013.

The new team then placed 1st at the DFU Open 2013 and 2nd at the national championships behind a pickup team with former members of the Danish national teams, who had no plans to train and compete for Denmark at the world meets. That's when the VAF Warriors were eventually selected as the national team.

The same lineup made new plans for the 2014 season with a more intensive training and competition schedule, and the progression has continued consistently, as the new team record average last weekend was showing once again.

The VAF Warriors also set and modified the team goals. One of the earlier goals is now very much in reach. The VAF Warriors want to stop the degression of Denmark's scoring averages at the world meets, which has been happening since the World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk.

One of the team goals was very well defined when the Sun Path Products NSL News spoke with team members earlier this year. The VAF Warriors want to score higher this year than the previous national team did at the Mondial 2012. Bodyflight Voluntas had finished with a 14.6 average after eight rounds in Dubai.

Last weekend's 14.9 average over ten rounds would be good enough to accomplish this goal, depending on the competition draw, of course. However, the VAF Warriors have probably adjusted their goals once again, as they were only one point shy of the 15-average benchmark...
