The team disbanded after 1996 and many of the players found themselves on Arizona Airspeed's farm team. Dallas Heat had many professional skydivers pass through its ranks: Alan Metni, Gary Beyer, Perry Knust and Pat Patton, Neal Houston, Christopher Irwin and Kai Wolf.
The competition fell away till the Dallas Thunder Project brought it back in 2005, with Ryan Smith leading the Texas Skydiving League. The event drifted away again until new DZ manager Johnny Kuczaj asked the current meet director Ron Hill to bring it back and increase the drop zone's competition footprint, which included the Dallas Rouge 8-way project in 2009/2010. Ron Hill has been the event's meet director since 2009.
