The teams are done with the last training jumps, and the next time the planes get in the air it will be for the scoring points. There have been quite a few changes in the lineups, and the Sun Path Products NSL News can cover at least a few of them.
The new lineup of the Austrian national team was mentioned earlier and is competing under the name Final Edition. Vision 99 is at the competition site, and the XL reunion with John McIver and Steve Hamilton in the UK 4-way Open Class lineup is reality. Kaizen coach Pete Allum is present, and Thomas Hughes has lifted the Fun Flag to everybody's view.
He had a conversation with two of his 8-way opponents at the world meets in 2001 and 2003, Alexey Minaev and Vladimir Pavlenko. Craig Girard said that the 8-way thriller in Gap 2003 was his most exciting and memorable competition.
Alexey Minaev and Vladimir Pavlenko are now back together in 4-way and 8-way. Russia's 4-way lineup is completely new and has registered under FlyStation. Barkli's Vladimir Pavlenko and Nikolay Vylegzhanin have teamed up with Alexey Minaev, who replaces Sergey Shenin, and new member Dmitriy Samokhval. All four FlyStation members compete for Barkli's 8-way lineup, as well.
