Did You Know...

... that the Indoor Cloud League activities continued last week?

Czech Republic's ICL leader Jan Klapka in Prostejov
posted Sep 1st, 2014 - The Indoor Cloud League activities continued while the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 took place in the Czech Republic last week.

The Sun Path Products NSL News explained earlier how the Bad Boys, national 4-way team of the Czech Republic, have recently been challenged by the indoor team HF Chicks. The winner of the Rookie Class competition at the World Challenge 2014 have moved up quickly through the ICL categories and have to compete in AAA or AA by now.

Jan Klapka's Czech group at the Skydive Arena now had the good problem of a choice between two highscores for the first time. Bad Boys and HF Chicks both scored 23-pointers for the AAA Class sequence in August. The video of the Bad Boys is on the ICL leaderboard, and the featured double screen video features the internal Czech AAA Class competition.

Northwest Skydiving League August group
In the meantime, the videos and scores of the Northwest Skydiving League group have been added to the ICL August leaderboard. iFLY Seattle held an ICL event on August 27, with ten participants and four coaches. Deb Correia reported that Carolyn Chow had to cancel at the last minute due to an extremely painful ear infection, and JOES team member Djordje Mandaric filled in for her, serving as a coach for the first time. Other coaches were David Zhang, Deb and Dave Correia.

Deb Correia said that she had a great group of continuing flyers in August, and each group contributed at least one score to iFLY Seattle's total: "Samantha d'Andrea and Matthias Kaminski, Rookie Class competitors with RainAir, did an awesome job in the Rookie AA and Rookie AAA divisions, contributing the two highest scores for the group. Their team is normally coached by David Zhang, but we decided to mix things up for this session".

The RainAir members eventually flew with Dave and Deb Correia and posted the highscores for the August sequences (23 - 27) in their two categories.

Randy Barbee and Mohamed Abou-Gindia contributed the scores for the Rookie A Class sequence, with coaches David Zhang and Djordje Mandaric. Deb Correia said that both 4-way rookies have shown great progress over the past few months and are looking forward to expanding their 4-way skills to the air.

The A Class lineup was composed of Martin Fox, Steve Platt and Paul Stoddard, along with coach David Zhang. Deb Correia also introduced two of her A Class competitors: "Martin Fox and Steve Platt were big 4-way competitors years ago, and it has been great to see them progress into calm, disciplined tunnel flyers."

Monica Aikins, D'Arcy Kaaua and Bill Selig, along with coach Deb Correia, stepped up this month, performing the AA and AAA Class sequences with Blocks 15 and 11, which they had never done before. Coach Deb Correia started their progression into the ICL sequences with a Random Formation and one of the new blocks, then combined them for the August sequences. Deb Correia said that the soon coming winter in the Northwest will increase the indoor activities, and her group is looking forward to holding more ICL events.
