Did You Know...

... that there was meet traffic between Czech Republic and Germany?

Critical weather at the German Nationals 2014
posted Sep 3rd, 2014 - The weather in Central Europe has recently not cooperated very well with skydiving competitions. The host of the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 in Prostejov struggled to complete the event after a very slow start due to the weather situation and barely completed the event before the next front arrived.

Several participants of the world meet then traveled to Eisenach in Germany, where the Dadalus skydiving center is hosting the German Nationals 2014, and were facing a very similar weather situation.

German teams and competitors were ready to get in the air for Round 1 on Tuesday, and they were still waiting for better weather on Wednesday afternoon. The first loads were eventually called to the boarding area at 3 pm.

Only coaching in Eisenach: Paratec-Saar member Markus Bastuck
Only one member of the German national 4-way team Paratec-Saar showed up in Eisenach. The Sun Path Products NSL News reported earlier that the team would not be able to attend the national championships. Markus Bastuck is coaching a few German teams who compete in Eisenach.

Golden Knights coach Solly Williams made the trip from Prostejov to Eisenach to continue his work with Team Airbus. He will also compete in 8-way where the Airbus 8-way lineup had an open slot. Airbus will most likely win both events without much competition.

Solly Williams and host Dieter Schwarz explained the details of the German Nationals 2014 for the Sun Path Products NSL News. Dieter Schwarz is a former Paratec-Saar member and also competes in 8-way with the Airbus lineup.

Team Airbus 4-way lineup with Airspeed videographer Justin Price
Arizona Airspeed's videographer Justin Price also traveled from the Czech Republic to Germany with more 4-way work to come. He fills the open camera slot for the Airbus 4-way lineup and will win his first German gold medal after a silver medal for the USA at the world meet.

His visit in Eisenach is good news for the online audience. There haven't been many meet videos of the world meet available so far. NSL-TV was able to include the NMP-PCH Hayabusa videos in a previous story, while other meet videos are still in the works. Justin Price now provided the Airspeed videos from Prostejov, which will follow soon.

The first Dornier 28 loads are finally in the air, and the first German scores will be posted soon.
