posted Sep 20th, 2014 - The ESL Championship is now in full swing in Teuge, Netherlands. The 23 teams completed six rounds on Friday, the first day of the competition.

Once again, the host has more teams registered than the other delegations from seven different countries, and the Dutch delegation can take the advantage of it by scoring with teams in all four categories. However, the Dutch Rookie Class teams actually put the Netherlands in 2nd place in the competition for the ESL Spirit, which goes to the delegation with the highest number of ESL points at the end.

Cool Runnings collects 5 ESL points after Round 6, and Dimension adds 5 more ESL points in the A Class. The Dutch Rookie Class teams (BAM, Try Out) are in 2nd and 3rd place and contribute a total of 14 ESL points to the delegation's account. The total of 24 points was the 2nd place for the Netherlands after the first day of the competition.

However, the three Belgian teams (Thunder, Creeps, Hoppaaa) together are close enough to keep it interesting for the 2nd place. They had a total of 22 ESL points after Round 6. Creeps would have to take the 2nd place in the AAA Class from AtomiX to catch up with the Dutch total of 24 ESL points.

AtomiX was six points ahead of Creeps after Round 6 and collects the highest number of ESL points for the German delegation. Germany (16) is two points behind the Czech Republic (18) and needs every single ESL point.

The UK delgation of four teams holds two first places (AA, Rookie) and was solid in 1st place last night. Entropy was only one point behind Zoonte in the AA Class after Round 6 and could add more ESP points to UK account. The Czech team on the other hand will do everything to defend the position to stay ahead of the German delegation (UK 30 - Netherlands 24 - Belgium 22 - Czech Republic 18 - Germany 16 - Lithuania 8 - Turkey 1).
