posted Sep 30th, 2014 - The Indoor Cloud League competition for September is almost over, and the groups have one more day to submit videos and improve scores before the October sequences will be posted.

The Florida group at iFLY Orlando came together again last Thursday to work on the September scores. The combination of old and new lineups added 15 points to the iFLY Orlando account, which was not enough to catch the Czech group at the Hurricane Factory Area 270 in Prague.

However, five of the six lineups at iFLY Orlando last week were able to improve the previous Florida scores and solidified the 2nd place so far on the September leaderboard. All ICL groups can still use the last day of the month to fly the six indoor sequences and submit videos and scores in the coming days.

The Northwest Skydiving League group at iFLY Seattle had posted their scores for September a week before the Florida group came back together. Deb Correia had 11 participants and four coaches on September 11th: "With David Zhang at USPA Nationals, which created a shortage of experienced coaches, we continued to call up some new coaches this month. Jay Alspach and Kelli Alspach, who have jumped on A Class team Fun Sponge for the past three seasons, stepped in to help.

The newer coaches are learning side-by-side with experienced coaches, including debriefing in the chamber between sessions and after the flights are over. Kelli Alspach commented that it is much harder than she realized, since she now has to look at what everyone else is doing rather than only watching herself. It's great to help them grow, and we look forward to a time when we will have an abundance of coaches from which to draw.

We had a couple of first-timers this month: Kurt Ferstl and Mike Armanios. The others were all frequent participants: Matthias Kaminski, who attended his last duel before moving to Alabama, Randy Barbee, Martin Fox, Steve Platt, Paul Stoddard, Jeremy Eggums, Monica Aikins, D'Arcy Kaaua, and Bill Selig. Each group did two different categories and contributed scores."

The highest Florida score for September came from the Rookie AA Class lineup, where two ZEUS members, James Hopkins and Amer Kassas had a powerful comeback on the leaderboard. They have not been eligible for the Rookie A Class sequences for a while and will now have to move up into the Rookie AAA Class.

Rookie Class team ZEUS competed at the Florida Skydiving League 2013 meets and had injury troubles this year, while they were looking for a 4th member after ZEUS 2013 member John Stares joined Z-Hills AA Class team Zunday for the 2014 season.

Former FSL competitor Jon Bojar and well trained freeflyer Seth Claytor joined the two ZEUS members in the Rookie AA Class lineup. They plan to compete in 4-way in the near future and have become regulars of the Indoor Cloud League events at iFLY Orlando.
