... that Monaco Vitalsea got no FAI medals after a 10-round indoor battle with HF Chicks?

FAI Indoor World Cup champions: Bad Boys
posted Nov 24th, 2014 - There were more interesting topics coming with the results of the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving at iFLY Austin earlier this month.

The reunion of three Aerokart Deep Blue members, with Clementine Le Bohec as the 4th member in Austin, was covered with the updates on 15 November 2014 and on 20 November 2014, and the VFS 4-way competition found attention on 16 November 2014.

There was not much competition for the winners, Bad Boys in the 4-way Open Class and Deep Blue in 4-way Women. However, there was a race between Spaceland Lite and eXact from Sweden for FAI's silver and bronze medals, and the combined AAA Class leaderboard actually featured the most exciting battle of the event between the HF Chicks and Monaco Vitalsea.

Silver medals for HF Chicks
The HF Chicks had the silver medals in their pockets, as there were only two teams in the female 4-way category, and Deep Blue was out of reach. The look across the leaderboards still made it a challenging competition for the indoor team of the Hurricane Factory in Prague.

The meet in Austin was the 6th indoor competition for the HF Chicks this year, not counting the events of the Indoor Cloud League, and the Czech team's 19.0 average was the highest one in the short team career.

The HF Chicks competed for the first time in March this year in Prague in the Rookie Class and then traveled to Bedford for the World Challenge 2014. They moved up into the A Class in April and joined the Bad Boys and CZ Ladies in the AAA Class beginning in September. Now they won the FAI silver medals at the world cup.

FAI silver medals for Monaco Vitalsea in Dubai 2013
The same battle looked very different on the other side. Monaco Vitalsea finished in 2nd place of the 4-way Open Class but could not win FAI medals. The exciting battle with the HF Chicks may have compensated for the lack of eligibility.

Monaco Vitalsea's lineup at the FAI Indoor World Cup (Franck Vazille, Yves Negrie, Marin Ferre, Stephane Mattoni) was different than at previous meets. Yves Negrie and Marin Ferre filled in for original members Didier Boignon and Jeff Ronzevalle. Yves Negrie is a member of Vitalsea's 8-way lineup, and former 4-way world champion Marin Ferre has been coaching the French national 4-way teams.

The complete Vitalsea 4-way and 8-way lineups will soon be back together for the upcoming Dubai Cup. Monaco Vitalsea's 8-way team was eligible for FAI medals last year in Dubai and won the silver medals after another 10-round battle with Russia's 8-way team from Fly Tanay. Dubai's 8-way team won the competition last year.
