Did You Know...

... that Evolution wins with new team record averages in Dubai?

Evolution's VFS lineup at the mockup
posted Dec 4th, 2014 - The 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship will be concluded on Thursday in all Formation Skydiving events. In fact, the eight rounds in 4-way VFS were completed on Wednesday, and Evolution won and takes home the first $15,000 of cash.

There was obviously not much competition in 4-way VFS, however, Evolution still did well without any performance pressure. The 19.1 average in Dubai is the new team record and more than a point higher compared to this year's world meet where the Evolution VFS lineup won the bronze medals.

Evolution did not only increase the scoring and performance level in VFS 4-way. The last 4-way Open Class sequence of the 10-round competition is a 3-block sequence and will bring down the average for all teams. Evolution will still most likely break through the 25-average for the first time in the team career.

Dirtdive for Round 10 in 4-way Open
The 4-way Open Class lineup, with Katie Woods in the point slot and VFS competitor Jean Christophe Oumet on camera, has arguably taken the world's 4-way top spot after Dubai, and that happened without any training between the world meet and the trip to the 5th DIPC.

Martin Lemay has been focused on learning as much as he can about how to run a Canopy Piloting event. Vincent Lemay has a new job as a commercial pilot, and Benoit Lemay has only been flying at SkyVenture Montreal with the Bisson family team. Katie Woods and Jean Christophe Oumet had time off.

It will soon be time for Evolution to go back to the drawing board and make the decisions where to go from here and how. The first set of gold medals is in reach in two years - after finishing 9th in Gera 2006, 6th in Maubeuge 2008, 5th in Menzelinsk 2010, 4th in Dubai 2012 and 3nd in Prostejov 2014...
