Did You Know...

... that Renée Point is the new point flyer for Fuzion?

Tonix for Canada at the 5th DIPC 2014
posted Jan 9th, 2015 - The Sun Path Products NSL News coverage of the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship included an update of the Canadian delegation on 14 December 2014. The story introduced the Tonix lineup (Valerie Poulin, Nathalie Metivier, Monika Wittmer, Jennyfer Caron, Johnathan Cayer on camera) who competed for Canada in 4-way Women.

The Canadian national team in this category, Fuzion, did not make the trip to Dubai after competing at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 earlier last year. However, Fuzion will be back this year, and youngest team member Valerie Bisson updated the Sun Path Products NSL News with the new plans.

Valerie Bisson passed through the DeLand area on her way back from a winter vacation in South Florida with her whole family and took the time for a coffee and ice cream break near the NSL headquarters.

Fuzion has a personnel change. Gabrielle Prevost is leaving the team and the country for a longer time period, and Renée Point will take her slot in the point position.

Renée Point trained and competed with Canada's previous national team in 4-way Women, Crimson Fox. She represented her country at the Mondial Dubai 2012, where Crimson Fox finished in 13th place with an 11.0 average. Valerie Bisson said that her team also added a new alternate to the lineup, Melissa Fortin.

Valerie Bisson was Fuzion's alternate before she was invited into the active lineup last year in the runup to the world meet. She knows how quickly this can happen and enjoyed the tryout for the open slots: "We had the chance to fly with a lot of talented girls, and we are really glad with our choice. We have found new team mates who share our goals, passion and vision of 4-way. We start training next week, and I can't wait."

Fuzion for Canada in Prostejov
The good news for Fuzion and Valerie Bisson has a downside for her indoor family team, 4astrophe. Valerie Bisson was a strong member of the team, at the two indoor competitions and the Indoor Cloud League events in 2013 and 2014.

She will be too busy for additional training with 4astrophe on a regular basis, while father Richard and brother Yannick Bisson would like to continue with training and competition. They said that they will try to find new team members for 4astrophe.

Valerie Bisson will still have time here and there to fly with her family for Indoor Cloud League scores. She will probably take the position that the Evolution members had for 4astrophe, who filled the 4th slot month by month with different flyers.
