Did You Know...

... that Lithuania's team Equinox concluded the A Class experience with a 20.2 average at Flyspot?

Flyspot Chicks with coach Gordon Hodgkinson
posted Jan 18th, 2015 - The Polish Indoor Open 2014 also included an A Class competition where three teams created a very interesting leaderboard.

Equinox, the winner from Lithuania, won or tied the highscores for all ten rounds. However, the other two teams from Poland were able to keep up with the Equinox pace in two rounds, while they battled with each other throughout the whole competition.

The all-female lineup of the Flyspot Chicks eventually won this duel by four points in the team's first competition ever. Coach Gordon Hodgkinson said that the Flyspot Chicks had approached their first meet as a learning opportunity of real competition, as team member Agata Chmielak explained: "We achieved our goal this weekend of learning how to handle ourselves in a competition environment and can't wait for the next one!" The Flyspot Chicks will now visit the World Challenge 2015 for their next competition experience.

Into the AA Class in 2015: Equinox from Lithuania
Flyspot Chicks Center Outside Karolina Papaj said that her team worked on precision first to pick up the speed later: "We experimented with the balance between precision and speed at the meet, and focusing on keeping the rhythm going". Her team mate Gosia Domzalaalso (Point) reflected on this strategy, as well: "As point I enjoyed being finally allowed to go a little faster - after focusing our training on learning shapes with precision". Result of the combination between precision and speed was the first official Polish championship title in the A Class.

The Flyspot Open Championship was the last competition in the A Class for winner Equinox. Team member Rasa Skuodiene said: "We were hoping to finish our time in the A Class with a new team record average". Her wish came true with 20.2 after the ten rounds at Flyspot. Algimantas Skuodis commented after their trip to Warsaw that some bugs with a camera lead to delays with the judging: "However, otherwise it was a great competition and we are already looking forward to coming back to Flyspot."

Equinox are now stepping up into the AA Class and will compete in the new category at World Challenge 2015. After the 2nd place at the ESL Championship 2014, Equinox also wants to go back to the same event this year.

No Mercy at the Polish Nationals 2014
Poland's second military team, OSWRiS II, finished 3rd. Center Inside Iwona Raczkiewicz usually trains and competes with the Polish female team "No Mercy". Her own team was unable to attend the indoor meet, and she joined her military colleagues who started flying together just a month before the event. No Mercy will be in action at the World Challenge 2015, as well.

Iwona Raczkiewicz commented her experience with the OSWRiS II lineup: "Jarek, our point flyer, handles paperwork at the military center, so he doesn't get that many chances to fly. We were very happy with our performance, and it was a great atmosphere all weekend."

She added that Piotr Blazewicz, tail flyer for OSWRiS II at the indoor competition, is usually filming the OSWRiS AAA Class lineup. Gordon Hodgkinson said that OSWRiS II member Maciej Lamentowicz had the most serious complaint of the whole event: The bar did not stock Haribo sweets...
