Did You Know...

... that Typhoon Molave is interrupting the skydiving activities in Taiwan?

posted Jul 18th, 2009 - Quick update from Koahsiung in Taiwan, where the World Games 2009 are in full swing this week. It is not really "full swing" for the skydiving events, as the weather has not cooperated so far. Here is a current weather report, which already explains the weather situation of Sunday, July 19.

Weather Report from China/Taiwan

GUANGZHOU, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Typhoon Molave hit land in south China early Sunday, with heavy rain forecast in most parts of the Guangdong Province in the following two days, local observatory said.

Molave, the 6th tropical storm this year which became typhoon, landed at Nanao town in Shenzhen City of Guangdong Province at 0:50 a.m. Sunday Beijing Time, with winds up to 145 km per hour in its eye.

Strong gales and heavy rains hit Shenzhen City, resulting in water flowing on streets. However, as residents and vehicles were scare during the night, the weather had no major impact on local people's living yet. As of 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the city hadn't reported any serious damages.

No damage - however, the 4-way event is under a lot of time pressure now. Two days should still be enough to complete a 6-round meet with only six teams. The NSL News will continue to report the situation on the other side of the planet.
