Did You Know...

... that X-Ray Remscheid won the Nuggets Cup 2009?

Incognito Leutkirch beats the Chicas
posted Jul 26th, 2009 - The upset is complete at the Nuggets Cup 2009 in Germany. It was not only an upset, it was more like a landslide.

Incognito Leutkirch did not even leave the Chicas a chance to catch up on the second day and the second half of the meet. In fact, the new shooting star in the female 4-way category won seven of the ten rounds over the current national team, tied two rounds and gave up only Round 6 by one point. Steffi Dichmann (Center Outside), Sarah Hajooze (Point), Anne Heinrich (Tail) and Pia Weingart (Center Inside) even beat the Nuggets Cup winner, X-Ray Remscheid, in two rounds.

It is very difficult to imagine that the Chicas could be able to turn the table at the German Nationals 2009, which begin in less than two weeks. It may soon be time for Incognito to look even further and set new and higher goals. Truth is that the 16.4 average is the highest 10-round average of a German female lineup and would have placed Incognito 4th at last year's World Meet 2008 in France.

4-way training at GoJump in Berlin-Gransee
X-Ray Remscheid completed the meet with the same solid performance as on Saturday and won the Nuggets Cup for the first time. The 17.3 average for a relatively slow competition draw (21 blocks, 12 random formations) is a confidence builder for the upcoming national championships. The clean performance required the judges to deduct only two points. The meet conditions are set for a great and exciting competition with FSC Eisenach and EADS at the German Nationals 2009.

Mike Vetter confirmed that his team was basically satisfied with the performance. The scores of two jumps were on target, the rest was average. He said that X-Ray will still have to work hard this week if they want to threaten the two other top contenders.

Coach Gary Smith will work with X-Ray for this entire training camp at GoJump in Berlin-Gransee. Mike Vetter has no doubt that the veteran coach will bring additional energy and discipline to the team. The weather forecast for the Berlin area is great, and he expects X-Ray to make another 50 - 60 jumps.

The A Class team from Berlin, PSV Fire, won the German A Class competition of the Nuggets Cup. Mike Vetter also helps this team with coaching at his GoJump skydiving center north of Berlin.
