Did You Know...

... that Centerline is still pursuing the gold medals?

Silver medals at the USPA Nationals 2008
posted Jul 29th, 2009 - Centerline XP, AAA/Advanced Class silver medalist at the USPA Nationals 2008, made the NSL News quite a few times last year. The team left no doubt earlier in the 2008 season that medals at the USPA Nationals were the only goal, and the NSL News followed the Centerline progression.

No news of the team were posted in the 2009 season so far. However, this doesn't mean that Centerline is not there any longer as a team. Team member Brian Smith recently updated the NSL News with the latest developments, which are slightly off 4-way competition...

Centerline Turns to Classic Accuracy...?

After the USPA Nationals 2008 Centerline decided to take a year off from Formation Skydiving competition. After two years of training and finishing with a disappointing second place in the Advanced Class the team has decided to take a different path to win gold medals. During the team's break the members all committed to learning different aspects of the sport to see exactly what their actual niche will be. Mark Izzo, Brian Smith, Justin and Cory Beaudreau realized that they have a team chemistry that no other skydiving team has seen before, and they all felt that sooner or later they will win gold within the sport as a team.

That has not happened this year so far, but Centerline might have found a promising new or old aspect of the sport. The team got together at Skydive Ricks this year and competed in a Classic Accuracy dual competition. Centerline was up against some veteran teams, which included the Army's Golden Knights team. Centerline placed 2nd behind the home team of Skydive Ricks but had promising individual results with a gold medal for Brian Smith in the Open Class and another gold medal for Mark Izzo in the Intermediate Class.

Young indoor experts: Team Future
Centerline will also compete in the Classic Accuracy event at their home drop zone during the annual Labor Day event called the Andre Cup. This event takes place over two days, and the Centerline members have their eyes on the $1000.00 for the first place.

Despite the team's great dynamics the Centerline members all have individual agendas for 2009. Brian Smith decided to stop neglecting his second daughter for another season of skydiving. He and his wife Marnie had their second daughter in May. He jokingly added that he is sending a warning out to Team Future. His two daughters Amelia and Elizabeth are going to be raised in the wind tunnel, he said: "Watch out for these girls in about 16 years." He asked the NSL News to leak this information only to Team Future and not to his wife. Too late...

Mark Izzo has decided to keep up his pursuit for a gold medal, as he is helping out Ranch Skydiving League team Vertical Obsession by flying their Center Inside slot. Mark Izzo is also traveling and working extensively on his business that manufactures machined components for the automotive and aerospace industry. When people ask him how his business is going he replies: "The economy..."

Centerline 4-way action
Justin Beaudreau graduated from UCONN in 2008 with an economics degree. He has decided to start working with a financial firm who is putting him through graduate school this fall. His team mates added that he is still refusing his team's request to start a Ponzi scam to help sponsor Centerline for its future goals.

Corey Beaudreau is in pursuit of another career after his company had major cutbacks late in 2008. He is now flying jumpers at Connecticut Parachutist on the weekends to earn extra money and pay for his swooping addiction. He also wants everyone to know that he is an attractive single male that comes with a clean bill of health...

These individual goals don't hold the team members back from remembering their commitment to stick together in their adventures of the sport. There will probably be more Centerline news coming in the future, and hopefully once again of their 4-way adventures.
