The competition in Germany is not over yet though, as the 8-way teams are now in action. EADS had a big lead, and the combination of Incognito Leutkirch and X-Ray Remscheid will win the silver medals.
No news from Russia, where the national championships have been interrupted by bad weather.
The Dutch Nationals 2009 do not offer an exciting competition for the gold medals, as the national team Dynamic Fource is too far ahead of all other Dutch teams. However, there is a race going on for the 2nd and 3rd place between NRG, Turbulence and Whooops.
The same counts for the A Class where Creeps is ahead of Cool Runnings. Air Elementals has the lead in the Rookie Class at the team's third competition this year. The Netherlands is the only country that applies all four competition classes at the national championships.
Dynamic Fource may not have much competition in the Netherlands this weekend. It will still be interesting to see on which scoring level the Dutch national team will end up at this point in time. Several other national teams have currently posted their scores at national championships and will also check out how the other teams are performing. Many of these teams will then travel to the FAI World Cup 2009 in the Czech Republic and compete directly with each other.
Dynamic Fource was ahead of the same German team in 2008 and of several other European teams who have already posted their 2009 scores.
The Dutch national team has not trained much this year, as the NSL News reported earlier. A slower year is supposed to prepare for a more intense 2010 season where Paul Hofstee (Center Outside), Erwin van den Braak (Center Inside), Meüs van der Poel (Tail), Koen van der Venne (Point) and Arie de Jong (Camera) will travel to Russia for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving.
Team member Paul Hofstee also had the honor to receive the trophy for the 15th consecutive time. He won the Tomscat Trophy every single time since the event was launched in 1995. Dutch videographer Mike Pennock mentioned that this is probably a record that will stand forever.
The UK Nationals 2009 will also be launched this weekend, and the situation is similar compared to the Netherlands. Satori will probably not have much competition this year, as defending champion Bodyflight Storm has a completely new lineup. However, Satori will post the team's first outdoor scores of the 2009 season and the first scores at all with new team member John McIver. The third national championship this weekend will take place in the Czech Republic.
