Deb Correia reported that Team Seattle held a skills camp one week prior to the Indoor Cloud League event to work on individual skills and focus on some of the random formations and blocks that would be seen in the duel. Six participants signed up and learned a lot.
She said that many of the Indoor Cloud League competitors have only been flying at those events: "They don't get much time to work on their own skills in a lower-stress environment. This is an event we hope to continue every month."

According to the rules for the Indoor Cloud League, Deb Correia's Northwest group doesn't technically have any flyers who would be classified as coaches, and she is very proud of what the group has accomplished.
iFLY Seattle saw two new participants in January, John Brown and Nat Mote. Coaches Deb Correia and Bill Selig guided them to the group's top score for the Rookie R category. Mike Armanios and Mohamed Abou-Gindia continue to work and fly with coach David Zhang. JOES member Djordje Mandaric joined as the second coach. Deb Correia said that this lineup is making great progress and turned in Seattle's best score for the Rookie RR category. Randy Barbee and Paul Stoddard turned in the top score in the Rookie RRR category with coaches Dave Correia and Jay Alspach.
Coaches Deb Correia, Djordje Mandaric, Jeff Smith and David Zhang then flew the AA and AAA Class sequences when the coaching work was done. Djordje Mandaric took on Block 18 (Zircon - Zircon) and Block 5 (Opal - Opal) for the first time. The AAA Class sequence also brought the first slot switcher to him. Deb Correia said that the JOES were all pleased with his and the team's performance.
The 4th team at iFLY Seattle's Indoor Cloud League event came together for the first time. Isaac Bahr, Kurt Ferstl, Steve Platt had coach Jeff Smith in the lineup and now decided to put together a team for the Northwest Skydiving League meets this season. Deb Correia said that they are hoping to snag one of the coaches for a player/coach team: "It's very rewarding to see people go from the Rookie R Class to wanting to be on a team, which is what our Indoor Cloud League events are all about...!"
