NCSL Director Lori Connor had begun with her preparations for the league's comeback in the summer of 2013, and the first update was posted on 24 July 2013.
It did not take very long until she also began to organize her own group of Northern Californian 4-way coaches and competitors for the monthly Indoor Cloud League events at iFLY SF Bay, and her group has not missed a single score for any of the six monthly sequences since November 2013. Lori Connor has become a shining 4-way star on the west coast.
The Lori Connor story becomes even more amazing considering the fact that she was also the mother of two sons and a daughter and worked as the national legal systems manager for one of the largest law firms in the USA when she decided to start skydiving. That was in May 2012.
She must have thought that this was not enough yet, and a year later she began to put her additional efforts into the comeback of the Northern California Skydiving League.

Her 45th jump was her first 4-way, and west coast skydiving legend Bill Dause was in the lineup. Then she won the Byron 4-way Scrambles on her birthday in April 2013. It was her first 4-way competition, and she got addicted right away. She attended the Bridge the Gap 4-way event in Elsinore in May 2013, where her coach Chuck Reilly talked about all of the 4-way instruction for newbies in Elsinore. She wanted the same in her home region and called the NSL headquarters just a few days later.
Outdoor plans were made for the NCSL, and a month later she discussed Indoor Cloud League activities at iFLY SF Bay with Trevor Thompson at the iFLY headquarters.
Lori Connor's incredible efforts and achievements for the sport required special recognition.
It happened by coincidence that former Skydiving Magazine editor Sue Clifton decided earlier this year to donate the discontinued magazine's remaining Skydiver of the Year award trophies to the National Skydiving League.
She did not have any requirements for the future use of the awards and left the new purpose up to the NSL.
Skydiving Magazine founder Mike Truffer rewarded skydivers with the same trophies who contributed in special ways to the sport. The NSL decided to follow this tradition. Lori Connor is the Skydiver of the Year 2014.
