Did You Know...

... that 4Astrophe and Fuzion have serious family business this weekend?

Evolution with Katie Woods at the 5th DIPC 2014
posted Mar 21st, 2015 - The 3rd Canadian Indoor Skydiving Championship 2015 is hosted by iFLY Toronto for the first time this year.

The indoor competition offers three categories (AAA - AA - A) and a total of 13 teams are scheduled for eight rounds in the 14-foot flying chamber.

The field includes several well know teams and names. The Canadian national team in 4-way Women, Parachute Montreal Fuzion, is the top contender in the absence of Evolution. However, one Evolution member is trying to make it as difficult as possible for Fuzion, Katie Woods, who competes for 4Astrophe this weekend.

In fact, Katie Woods is not the only Evolution member. Michel Lemay, father of the three Evolution brothers Martin, Vincent and Benoit, is in his Inside Center slot for 4Astrophe. Michel Lemay retired from the team after the Mondial Dubai 2012 where Evolution finished in 4th place with a 23.6 average.

Katie Woods became the new 4th member and won the bronze medals for Canada two years later with a 24.9 average in Prostejov. She was the Point for Evolution and is now in the Tail slot for 4Astrophe.

Father Richard Bisson (Outside Center) and son Yannick Bisson (Point) complete the current 4Astrophe lineup. They still fly together in the front piece.

Richard and Yannick Bisson have their own business with the top favorite Fuzion. Daughter and sister Valerie Bisson was recruited by Canada's national team in 4-way Women last year and had to train and compete with Fuzion. She still joined her family team here and there for the monthly Indoor Cloud League competition.

Yannick Bisson will turn 14 years in May and is eager to keep up with his sister, who turned 18 during the world meet last year. 4Astrophe is not far behind Fuzion at all after the first rounds at iFLY Toronto.

Fuzion is competing with a new lineup, as well. The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 9 January 2015 that Renée Point replaced Gabrielle Prevost at the end of the 2014 season.
