Did You Know...

... that Bodyflight Bedford welcomes the first team from Mauretania at the World Challenge 2015?

Guardian of the entry gate: Ged Parker
posted Apr 1st, 2015 - The Sun Path Products NSL News has made the transition from DeLand to Bedford and set temporary headquarters at Bodyflight Bedford, where the preparations for the World Challenge 2015 are in full swing.

The first update includes a new NSL Reality TV clip, which was recorded on Wednesday. It was pure coincidence that Ged Parker, annual guardian of the entry to the flying chamber, could welcome the audience to the 10-year anniversary event when the NSL TV camera was just turned on to film the action area on Bodyflight's top floor.

Joey Jones was present, as well, and informed the Sun Path Products NSL News that his back-flying team Bodyflight Black Majick, with team mate and event host Paul Mayer in the lineup, has competition in the A Class this year. He said that there are also two more back-flying teams in the Rookie Class competition.

SportLoto's complete lineup for the World Challenge 2015
The camera was also running when Thunder ISR started their training session. The Thunder members had delays on their travel to Bedford and arrived at Bodyflight just 30 minutes before the flying session was scheduled.

SportLoto from Russia, one of Thunder's strongest opponents in the rankings right behind the world's best 4-way teams, had their complete lineup ready for action, as well. Vladimir Pavlenko, member of Russia's national 4-way and 8-way teams for many years, is the 4th SportLoto member at this year's World Challenge. It's a very strong lineup, and Thunder ISR will be facing the usual tough opposition from Russia.

Voodoo has Gary Smith in the lineup, while UK national 4-way champion of 2014 Liz Matthews competes with Fly Like a Girl in 4-way Women. Thunder and Voodoo were in the flying chamber when one of the two Mini-Maktoum teams from Skydive Dubai trained for their competition in 2-way Artistic Flying.

First team from Mauretania: Tenanines, with Moulay Abbas (left)
Bodyflight Bedford proudly added the 90th team to the 4-way field, Mauretania's national lineup, and Paul Mayer pointed out that a team from Africa competes for the first time in Bedford.

It is actually only one Mauretanian competitor, Moulay Abbas, who is a passionate 4-way competitor and asked his coach Marco Arrigo to put together a lineup for the World Challenge. It is difficult to find other 4-way competitors in Mauretania, and Marco Arrigo recruited two world class competitors who he knew from his own days with the Italian national team Sinapsi.

Matthias Nord was first in Sweden's national 4-way teams, then moved to Norway and joined Arcteryx for a few more world meets. Ditta Valsdottir from Iceland was his team mate in Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx. She is also the 4th member for the Mauretanian team Tenanines at the World Challenge. She trained and competed with the famous Norgie Girls who will soon have their own reunion. That's a topic for another story...
