The outdoor season opener in DeLand has included cash awards for the winners since the annual event was launched in 2001. The best teams on the top of the leaderboard take home some cash for their world class performances, while there have always been additional prizes for all participating teams, as well.
All AAA Class teams have even had the chance to win cash prizes for some of the rounds in the Shamrock Showdown Skins Game. A sophisticated handicap system allows all teams to win prize money paid out for half of the rounds after handicap.
As a result of the shortened competition, the handicap was assigned after the first three rounds, and $400 would be paid out for each of the remaining three rounds for a 6-round competition.
The detailed leaderboard of the Shamrock Showdown Skins Game shows the scores after handicap and how close the teams were to each other in the race for the cash prizes. Carolina Turbo XP turned out to be the lucky winner of $800 total. Black Cat won the $400 for Round 6.
