Did You Know...

... that No Mercy and Flyspot Chicks from Poland combined for the 4th place?

First A Class winner in 2002: GT Inviscid from Georgia
posted Apr 29th, 2015 - The A Class is a very popular and competitive category at the World Challenge 2015.

The National Skydiving League had introduced two new 4-way categories at the end of the 2001 season to offer more skydivers on the grass root level a better fitting 4-way arena, with dive pools and sequences according to skills and experience level. The addition of A and Rookie Class completed the set of NSL categories for the 2002 season, which is still unchanged.

The A Class was in fact the second best attended category at the World Challenge 2015. Host Paul Mayer launched the event only with AAA Class competition in 2007 and added the other three NSL categories step by step. The Rookie Class teams were invited to the World Challenge in 2010, and five A Class teams competed for the first time in 2011. The winner of the A Class competition at the World Challenge 2015 was on top of a 19-team leaderboard...

First A Class winner at the World Challenge 2011: Kinetix from Ireland
The A Class competition is not only very popular - it is also very competitive. The extended leaderboard shows that the highscores for each round were shared between four of the 19 teams. The winner, Flyspot Chicks from Poland, was safely in the lead after the fast sequence of Round 3. However, several other teams performed on a similar performance level randomly.

The Flyspot Chicks caught the attention of the Sun Path Products NSL News for the first time on October 4th. They competed at Poland's national championships in the AAA Class, the only 4-way category for the four participating teams.

Coach Gordon Hodgkinson went through a "AAA Class Crash Course" with the team, and the Flyspot Chicks were glad when the Polish Indoor Open 2014 included a separate leaderboard for A Class teams. The Flyspot Chicks finished with a 17.9 average on home turf and followed up with a 20.3 average at the World Challenge 2015.

A Class winner at the World Challenge 2015: Flyspot Chicks
The Flyspot Chicks were not the only team from Poland in Bedford. No Mercy, with another all-female lineup, competed in the AA Class and finished in 5th place of 14 teams. No Mercy was also formed last year and competed at the national championships.

The 2-team delegation from Poland ended up in 4th place of the unofficial nations ranking. This is an impressive result for a smaller 4-way Formation Skydiving community. There are a few other 4-way teams in Poland, however, only the two all-female lineups made it to Bedford and represented their country very successfully.

Both Polish teams are outdoor competitors at the same time. The 2015 outdoor season will most likely bring them back to different leaderboards after the success in Bedford...
