Did You Know...

... that 4-way is addictive and a never ending road?

Addictive and never ending: David Grauwels
posted May 29th, 2015 - The aftermath of the World Challenge 2015 is still far from over. There is a lot of footage and content that a field of nearly 100 teams generates and that cannot be processed and published timely.

The competition videos of NMP-PCH Hayabusa were uploaded early, on April 7th, together with the very entertaining video of the Hayabusa Hostage Crisis. The Sun Path Products NSL News now follows up with the video of a live interview of the complete Hayabusa lineup at the end of the first meet day.

The Belgian 4-way world champions were 12 points ahead of SDC Rhythm XP, in 2nd place after Round 5, and it was a very relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the competition.

The conversation was lively enough, however, entertainer Ged Parker allowed Bryony the Puppet to meet the Hayabusa members in the middle of the interview. She is a true fan of the world champions and invited them also for later meetings and activities. Hayabusa handled the distraction very well...

The Hayabusa members discussed the competition and the special situation. They were very much aware of the fact that they competed with Arizona Airspeed, even though their major opponent was once again not in Bedford.

Airspeed had attended each World Challenge between 2006 and 2012 and won the first four times consecutively. France won in 2010 over Hayabusa and Airspeed until the Belgians took over in 2011 and then won every year to date, which makes it five consecutive victories.

Hayabusa Point Dennis Praet explained how difficult it has been so far for the team to train with new member Jeroen "Bob" Nollet. He said that there were always meets interrupting a consistent and well planned training agenda: "Bob just had to step in and pretty much hold on, while we were going our Hayabusa speed."

The team members also explained how they advance their individual skills. The rear piece (David Grauwels - Jeroen Nollet) admitted that the front piece (Andy Grauwels - Dennis Praet) has been out-performing them so far. David Grauwels said that the individual skills are very important for the performance balance, and the team members try to get better by regularly applying 1-on-1 training exercises.

Hayabusa has now transitioned into outdoor training after the World Challenge 2015, and they are looking forward to the race with Airspeed until the World Meet 2016. David Grauwels summed up the 4-way experience for everybody who does not know that yet: "It's addictive, and it's a never ending road to getting better and better..."
