Did You Know...

... that the Bad Boys completed 23 jumps with coach David Grauwels?

Bad Boys in outdoor training
posted Jul 7th, 2015 - The Bad Boys from the Czech Republic have been the national 4-way team since they won the country's championship title in 2013. The previous Czech national team Sky Service/Sky Walkers/Lize had retired after the Mondial Dubai 2012, and Jan Lukavec continued with the Bad Boys.

The Bad Boys have still not competed yet as the Czech national team at a World Championship of Formation Skydiving. Only former Sky Service/Sky Walkers/Lize member Jan Lukavec has this experience, while Vaclav Prokes, Marian Jeziak, Jan Klapka and Jaroslav Smitka (Alternate) missed their opportunity last year on home turf.

Inside Center Vaclav Prokes had a shoulder surgery, and alternate Jaroslav Smitka was not available at the time of the world meet. The Bad Boys are now eager to compete for the Czech Republic at their first world meet, the Mondial 2016 at Skydive Chicago.

David Grauwels with Bad Boys
It's not only the participation at the world meet that the Bad Boys have in their mind. They have driven their indoor performance to the 21-average level, and they are frequently posting winning Indoor Cloud League scores for the AAA/AA/Open Class sequences. However, the team's outdoor numbers have not caught up yet with the indoor scores in an adequate proportion.

The 13.1 average at the Czech Nationals 2014 is the team's highest result in a 10-round meet, and improving it significantly stands as one of the team goals.

The Bad Boys are probably also looking at the highest meet average that any Czech 4-way team has posted in the country's history. Outside Center Jan Lukavec has the 14.9 average in the books that his former team posted at the Mondial Dubai 2012, even though it was only an 8-round meet for Lize. He also posted a 15.9 average with the Sky Walkers at the Czech Nationals 2009, with the help of a Super Sequence in Round 10.

The outdoor competition season is now in full swing in the Czech Republic, and outdoor training has high priority for the Bad Boys, as well.

They recently spent two days with NMP-PCH Hayabusa member David Grauwels at the drop zone in Most and completed 23 jumps.

Team member Jan Klapka said that his team had scheduled a third day with the reigning Belgian 4-way world champion at the Hurricane Factory, and the indoor training would focus on technical details after the 23 jumps in Most. He added that the Bad Boys were very happy with David Grauwels' coaching.

The main goal for the 2015 season is still a good result at the 1st FAI/IPC Indoor Skydiving World Championships at the Hurricane Factory in October.

Then the main focus will shift to the outdoor competition at the Mondial Chicago 2016.
