Did You Know...

... that the Heartbeat Skydive Team are "young and fun loving guys who have a lot of ambition and potential"?

Heartbeat Skydive Team
posted Jul 12th, 2015 - The scores of this year's Tomscat Trophy included two Rookie Class teams from the Netherlands, who represented their country well on a very busy overall leaderboard on the June 20 weekend.

A total of 16 Rookie Class teams competed at five different locations, and the best Dutch team, the Heartbeat Skydive Team, finished in 4th place with a 7.6 average after the eight rounds in the Netherlands.

The Sun Path Products NSL News mentioned in the update on June 21st that the "ISR Stimulation Prize", 30 minutes of free flying time at Indoor Skydive Roosendaal, was once again awarded to the team that "makes the most out of a small budget and stands out with enthusiasm and commitment in an effort to become better".

It was the Heartbeat Skydiving Team that won the special prize this year.

The Thunder ISR members are providing free coaching for the winner of the "ISR Stimulation Prize", and Outside Center Paul Hofstee encouraged the Heartbeat Skydive Team to introduce themselves to the SKYLEAGUE.COM audience.

Onno Kammeraad, Arjan Ouwerkerk, Klaas van der Veeken and Rick van Hoof formed the team for the 2015 season, icluding videographer Rigo Rodriguez (Video) and alternate Marjan van Beveren. All team members made their first skydives between 2010 and 2013. Only videographer Rigo Rodriguez started earlier in 2008.

Bad Habits in 2013
Onno Kammeraad and Klaas van der Veeken have previous 4-way experiences. They competed together with Dutch Rookie Class team FlyBij at the Tomscat Trophy and the ISR Grand Prix last year, and they are the reigning Dutch Rookie Class indoor champions.

Team videographer Rigo Rodriquez is actually the most experienced 4-way competitor of the Heartbeat Skydive Team.

He was in the Tail slot for A Class team Bad Habits in 2013 and then began to shoot video, as well.

He was filming AAA Class team Murphy Mania in 2014 before he met his new team.

He said that he wanted to be a part of a group with "young and fun loving guys who have a lot of ambition and potential". His new team mates seem to fit perfectly.

Onno Kammeraad and Klaas van der Veeken joined forces with Arjan Ouwerkerk and Rick van Hoof when they learned that they have similar goals.

All team members have between 150 and 350 jumps (except videographer Rigo Rodriguez with 700), and they are now ready to pursue their higher goals.

Onno Kammeraad and Klaas van der Veeken with FlyBij
Klaas van der Veeken is ready for more fun, while pushing the boundaries, together with his FlyBij team mate Onno Kammeraad.

Arjan Ouwerkerk says that he wants to help pushing this team to the limit. Rick van Hoof is expecting a steep learning curve in 4-way competition, while "meeting lots of new friends". It sounds like a promising combination of well matching goals.

Next goal for the new Heartbeat Skydive Team after the Tomscat Trophy is the ISR Grand Prix 2015 in November, the annual indoor competition in Roosendaal, and the plans for the 2016 season are in the works.

Heartbeat wants to move up into the A Class competition next year and attend the same meets, plus a few additional ones, including the Dutch national championships.

FlyBij posted a 4.7 average at the Tomscat Trophy 2014, and the Heartbeat Skydive Team took off with a 7.6 average. FlyBij's 14.9 average for the 3rd place at the ISR Grand Prix 2014 will probably be history for Onno Kammeraad and Klaas van der Veeken, as well...
